It is an easy lead-pipe cinch to trace my family records to one Ziba Hunt (born 1802) in Duxbury Mass. However, from there it gets murky. The John Alden family website has Ziba Hunt fathered by another Ziba Hunt. Ziba Hunt Sr.'s father is Lot Hunt and then the family traces back to the Soules and Aldens and other Mayflower folk.
However, another sources show that Ziba Hunt (born 1802) was sired by a Samuel Hunt out of Weymouth, Mass.
The birthdays of the two Zibas show March and November, so maybe they are two different guys. Coinsidently, I ran across another 19th century Ziba Hunt (no apparent relation)when researching the Nova Scotia side of my family, so maybe the name "Ziba Hunt" was a way more common name back then than it is now.
I would appreciate any information from someone who can help me in my quest to get the right Ziba line. TIA
