Lana,
I am researching my 4xgreat-grandfather Samuel Hunter. He lived in South Carolina and Georgia in the 1700's and died in Lincoln County, Georgia, abt. 1801. His first son was named David, so I suspect that his father or brother was named David. I have noticed that the David Hunter who was married to Agnes Cochran had children Ester, William, James, Samuel, and Elizabeth. I have also noticed that he had a first wife and children.
I have a Chester County Deed abstract from 1791 naming his wife Agnes and sons William and Samuel. On the 1800 Chester County census, I have noticed that Agnes is named as head of household, so I assume that David has died.
Where did the names of these 5 children come from ?? Where did the knowledge of him being in Pennsylvania come from ?? Does anyone have any information pertaining to his first marriage ?/
Thanks SO much for any assistance,
Malcolm Hunter
