Robert Hunter, Jr. was a Rev. War Soldier. His wife, Anna Margaret (Sloan) Hunter was the daughter of Rev. War Soldier, Lt. David Sloan (killed in the Battle of Long Island) & Mary (Scott) Sloan. According to the Census Records (1800, 1810, & 1820 - 1830 incomplete), they had approximately 13 children.
One older daughter (first name unknown) married a Samuel Reed. According to an obituary dated 6 July 1832, Mrs. (Hunter) Reed's sister, Margaret Hunter (b. ca. 1804), died at her home. One grandson of Samuel Reed and FNU (Hunter) Reed was an H. P. Reed of Westmoreland Co., PA who owned a department store in Derry (?) Township.
Does anyone have the descendents of this family? Robert Hunter, Jr. was a wonderful man and a true patriot, saved many lives, and was highly thought of in/around New Alexandria, Derry Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA.
I have transcribed the Rev. War Records for both Robert Hunter, Jr. (later Col. in the Westmoreland Co. Militia) and Lt. David Sloan. I would love to share this info. with someone. Thank you
