Surnames: Hunter
The name Cook is a name I was given when I was adopted yrs ago. My real grandmother and step grandfather adopted me and one sister back in 1967. Since she never talked much about the family when she was alive. I have spent the last year looking for information. So far have gotten back as far as Thomas J. Hunter who was a native of Ohio. He was born November 25, 1846 in Ohio/Iowa, (according to military records) and died Feb 2, 1912 in Iowa. He had served in the war between May 30, 1862 - Feb 3, 1863. He had married a woman named Amanda, born July 4, 1847 and died May 13, 1924. Both of them are buried at Lisbon Cemetary, Lisbon, Iowa. He had at least one son Edward Hunter born in 1870/71 in Iowa. He married at least on 3 seperate occasions, one of which was Alice Perrigo. From the 3 marriages he had at least 15 kids, one of which was my grandmother. I know the family is originally from Penn because my grandmother talked once about visiting relatives there when she was a child. Can you let me know the info on all family lines because have sent away for military records in DC. Hoping they may provide the connection. I just need to find the connection between Penn and Ohio, inwhich they moved on into Iowa.......
