Hursh's From New Jersey moved into Ohio

I have been going through information that I have recently recieved from an aunt in Connecticut that mother, my great grandmother, had complied. This information is dated from the early 1980's. I hope that this may help someone with their search. Please ask questions and if I can I will answer them. At this time I am not related to this set of Hursh.

1. John and Margaret Hursh
John and Margaret settled in Germany Flats early 1700’s (whether emigrated or born of parents who emigrated is not know) Margaret spoke with definite German Accent.
John Hursh died at age 44 years. Their children were all born in Sussex County, New Jersey. John lived in Hardystown Township Sussex New Jersey. Ingenious worker in wood. Made many useful articles for neighbors such as flax and woolen spinning wheels, tables, chairs, almost anything made of wood.

Oldest son settled up after death of John and moved to Ohio then farther west (Must have been after 1815).

John was a blacksmith. Wife dying moved about in Canada and Frontier states (about 1837)

Anthony b. March 9, 1793 d. Sept. 12, 1847 married Hannah in August 7, 1814. Hannah b. October 26, 1791 and d. Sept. 15, 1848.
Anthony wasd a blacksmith apprentice to Aaron Cartright. Anthony born in Hardystown Township Sussex County New Jersey.

Maria husband dying married Moses Shoemaker with children lived near Mill brook in Warren Co. Moved to farm Catawissa in Pa. Close of war sold farm moved near Dingma’s Ferry in Pike Co PA. They had 9 children beside her 1 and his 3.

Married Jane McDonalds. Moved to Colsville until 1861 then Dingmans Chicago Ill- Marysville Missouri. Wife died leaving 3 children who were brought bact to NJ by Uncle William McDonalds. Katie brought by Aunt Matilda Dairymple. Joseph by Henry McDonalds living at Passaic NJ. James stayed at Branchville with uncle William McDonalds.
Brother George after death of wife married widow with grown boys went to Santa Barbara in southern California then to Smiths River Oregon then joined by his 2 sons 1st James then Joseph. George later went to Portland Or. Married a widow with 2 little boys (Feb 1887 almost 58 years)

Katie married Geoge Dalymple on farm in Frankfort

Died few weeks beor father at 15 years.

Soon after Marriage moved to Ohio.

Soon after Marriage moved to Ohio
1.6. Jacob m. Phebe Cole
Phebe Cole sister of Joseph Cole, a farmer living about 2 miles north at Houses Corner moved to Richland County in Ohio. (Margaret wife of John and her daughter Margaret moved to Ohio with Jacob but returned)
1.7. Maria m. Montonye
Somewhere in New York State somewhere about Binghamton or Elmira
1.8. Margaret m. unmarried
8th and youngest child always lived with her mother Margaret until past forty years of age. Troubled with fits from childhood. Went to Ohio with her mother and Jacob’s family but returned with her mother after several years.
