Alabama Hutchesons

I am looking for information concerning ancestors and descendants of my great-grandfather William Parks Hutcheson. He was born in August 1851 in Alabama. His father was born in Georgia. As of the 1900 census he and his wife Mariah (married 1873) owned a farm in Camp Hill Village in Tallapoosa County Alabama. The census lists 4 living children: Eva E born 1878, Henry E born 1881, James P born 1883 (my grandfather), and Annie C born 1887. I have a family bible (published 1847) with additional names and dates and am trying to see if I can put some of the puzzle pieces together.

I have a Patrick Hutcheson born in the Caledonian Road, Glasgow who married a Margaret McCann from Donegal, Eire at some point in the first two decades of the 20th Century.

Really struggling to take them any further back, and would be glad of any input!

The following information does not fit into my WELLS research but I came across this listing which seems interesting. Notation is made that 6 Wells sisters married 6 brothers (Hutcheson) on Dec 24th. The year appears to be 1831. The record date is 03/07/1832. The marriages occured in Delaware County New York and the Hutcheson, appear to be from Saco Maine.

John Raitt, former Delaware County Historian, many years ago, extracted this information from the Delaware Gazette for the years 1819-1900. He gave me a copy so that I could
index it, which index is on the Delaware County History Site. I am retyping his notes and submitting them to the Delaware County Site for the use of this generation and future generations so that they might ‘find’ their lost ancestors. Does the book have any information about Sarah Worthington who married Charles Hutcheson in TN. She later came to TX and died in 1895 In Springtown, TX according to internet sources.
Her sister Rachel Worthington-Sigler-Evitt was my 4 G-GM.

I am wondering if you might have a copy of John S. Hutcheson's Civil War Pension file? I am looking for a copy. It appears that the John Hutcheson that Frances married might be the one who was living with her family on the 1850 census.

I am trying to sort out the Hutchison family in Jackson and Macon Co., TN. My William D. Hutchison was there in Jackson Co from 1827 until after 1860. I am missing three of his male children. I am also missing one son, John Hutchison who was born ca 1837. Around 1860, my Hutchison family along with the children of Abraham Baker of Smith Co., TN fled TN to Taney Co., MO. This was due to the ambushe/murder of Elizabeth Hutchison Baker's husband, Claiborne Baker. The family settled in Dallas Co., MO. Two of the Hutchison sons, Daniel J. and George W. settled in Marion and Perry Co., Ill.

We know that the family of Samuel Hutchison and his brother, David Hutchison, both Rev. War Vets resided in Jackson CO., TN around the mid 1820s.

I am looking for any info that might help sort this group of Hutchisons out. I would really like to hear from you concerning your Hutchison family.

According to the book "Scottish Clans and their Tartans", the Hutchesons (and similar spellings) are a sept of the Clan MacDonald. Has anyone discovered whether this means a blood relationship at any point?

I've recently been doing research on the Cunnisons of Blairgowrie, Scotland and have found out quite a lot. I am in the process of writing it all into a personal log which I aim to have finished by mid-November.

The George Cunnison who posted in 2000 is actually my cousin but we haven't seen each other for years. I believe he lives in England now. I live in Berlin, Germany.

Claude Hutcheson, 92

Mr. Claude Hutcheson, 92, died Thursday morning, June 12, 2008, at Tattnall Health Care Center in Reidsville. The Emanuel County native had lived in the Lynntown Community most of his life. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the South Pacific Campaign. He was retired from Civil Service and farming. Mr. Hutcheson attended the Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Alma “Bay” Hutcheson of Lynntown; two daughters, Jerri Drury and Brenda Oliver both of Lynntown; a son, Robert L. “Bobby” Hutcheson of Lynntown; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Pallbearers were Lonnie Hutcheson, Keith Graffagnino, Joey Graffagnino, Wilburn Hutcheson, Jack Hutcheson, and Richard Lynn.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 14, 2008, from the Chapel with Mr. Tony Hutcheson officiating. Interment followed in the Little Flock Church Cemetery.

Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home served the Hutcheson Family.

My grandfather was a James Cunnison, who came from long line of 'James Cunnisons'. We have traced our Cunnisons ancestors back to the Edradour/Moulin area. After leaving Moulin they then lived in the Blairgowrie, Clunie, Caputh, Kirton of Lethendy area too - so I am wondering if we are related to George. There was definitely a brother John at some point.
As for the American Cunnisons we would be interested to know if you guys know who was the first Cunnison émigré from Scotland.

William Hutcheson - North Ireland to Laurens Co. SC

William Hutcheson(Hutchinson)and his wife Margaret Brooks left Ireland and settled in Laurens Co, SC near their Daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) Bryson. William was a DI (or "Driller") for American troops in the Revolutionary War. His brother Frank was a Tory,fought for the British,and apparently went back to England after the war or to Canada.

I'm looking for any information on William and Frank's parents and the parents of Margaret Brooks.

We lost Millard McCloud September 26 2008 (son of eliz jane hutcheson) there is still some Hutcheson that live in the Bryant Ala area.Never heard from you.They are buried in Ebenzer church which was behind Millard's home across from Bryant school.

Charles Hutcheson married Ella Pratt and lived in Illinois up till 1889 at least- after that they divorced and we never knew what happened to him. Thanks!

Looking for information on parents of Arthur Chester Hutcheson (b 20 Apr 1885/6 in New York state, died 19 May 1971 in Tustin, California). The earliest Census I have in which he appears is 1910, after he married Mary Elizabeth Herbert (1889-1985) of New Jersey. Census data indicate his father was born in Scotland and his mother Henrietta (R?) was born about 1849 in New Jersey. He had two sisters, Henrietta Robinson Hutcheson (b 21 Mar 1888 in New York state, died Nov 1977, married John Henry Carl Jr) and Edith C Hutcheson (b abt 1891 in New York state).
