Hello. I hope the researcher, "Richard," at the WorldConnect Project doesn't mind if I use some of his information to offer a simple outline of my HUTCHINSON family line.
To start with, George HUTCHINSON, and his brother, Thomas HUTCHINSON, arrived in the MA Bay Colony with "the Winthrop Fleet." (Someone else will need to offer a brief outline of descendants of this Thomas HUTCHINSON.)
George HUTCHINSON and Margaret (unknown)
had a son, Nathaniel, shortly after arriving, b1633
Nathaniel HUTCHINSON married Sarah BAKNER, m1659
They had children: Nathaniel, b1662, William, b1664, Thomas, b1666, William, b1668-69, Margaret, b1670, Samuel, b1672, Mary, b1675, Steven, b1677
Samuel HUTCHINSON married Sarah FASSET / FASCITT, m1695
They had children: Sarah, b1697, Mary, b1699, Thomas, b1702, Deborah, b1704, Samuel, b1706, Bethia, b1709, Nathaniel, b1712, Deborah, b1716
Thomas HUTCHINSON married Mary IRELAND, m1725 Cambridge
They had children: Thomas, b1731, Thomas, b1733, Samue, b1736-37, Mary, b1739-40, Nathaniel, b1742, Nathaniel, b1743, John, b1747
John HUTCHINSON married Sarah FROST, m1772 Charlestown
They had children: Sarah, b1775, Mary (Polly), b1776, Lydia, b1778, John, b1780, Abigail, b1782, Thomas, b1784, Samuel, b1786, Oliver, b1788. (John marrid 2 more times)
Thomas M. HUTCHINSON married Betsey HOMER, m.1813 West Cambridge (now Arlington)
They had children: John B., b1814?, Thomas O., b1817, Jacob H., b1818, Elizabeth W., b1820?, Adeline M., b182?, Maria L., b182?, Thomas, b182? (?)(first Thomas lived)
My notes:
This extended HUTCHINSON family bought the GARDNER Farm in Charlestown (now Winchester, MA) in 1720's. At some point, two farmhouses were built across the street from each other. During later 1800's, the 2 brothers, Jacob and Thomas O., lived in those 2 houses. Other siblings lived there before that, but 3 of the siblings left Winchester and moved to Brooklyn, NY, in the 1850's. That was John B., and 2 of his married sisters. One married sister continued to live in Winchester.
My ancestor, Jacob HUTCHINSON, married Eliza Ann CROSBY, and they had 3 children. George was their first, b~1845, and then they had 2 daughters. One daughter died as a teen. The surviving daughter was Adelaide CROSBY HUTCHINSON and she was my gr-gr-grandmother.
His brother (on the farm), Thomas O. HUTCHINSON, married Mary MASTERS, and they had 2 children, Thomas and Mary.
Adelaide HUTCHINSON married Charles W. RICE from Lubec, Maine. They married near Boston and had 2 daughters, Louise W. RICE and Edith CROSBY RICE. Edith never married. Louise married G. Sanford KIDDER from Princeton, Maine, and they married there but came down to Winchester. They had 3 children. When the children were school-age, Sanford moved back to Maine.
(Eliza (CROSBY) HUTCHINSON's brother, John CROSBY, ran the large, important CROSBY Farm in Arlington, MA. The 2 farms were up and down the street from each other.)
