There's a good chance that your John W. Hutchinson's father was William G. Hutchinson listed in the 1860 census in Dumas Shop, Anson, NC. His mother appears to be Mary, who is 2 years older than her 36 year old husband Wm. G. The copy is very light but looking at it makes me think she is 38 and not 18, plus the child listed below her is also named Mary and is 13. The wife is listed being from Georgia. And - the 1850s collection shows them losing a son anmed John W. in 1849, so your John W. would be his brother named in his honor.

The 1850 census shows them in Darlington Co., SC and wife Mary is listed the same age as Wm. G. They have a son John there, but I'll bet he died before your g-g-grandfather is born and thus your John was named after 2 deceased bros.

- does that help?
