Over the weekend I was looking at the 1860 census, and I discovered there was a Fred PRINCE family living next door to the HUTCHINSON brothers, Jacob and Thomas. Thomas was in the original farmhouse at 21 Ridge St., and Jacob reportedly built the smaller farmhouse at 18 Ridge St. in late 1840's (across the street). .. I'm now thinking there might have been a . 3rd . farmhouse on the very large HUTCHINSON Farm in the Hill District of Winchester. That would have been ~25 Ridge St. So, there were 4 HUTCHINSON farms in Winchester in the early 1800's.
And, Fred PRINCE married in 1848 and moved to Winchester at that time, and I'm wondering if he bought that 3rd HUTCHINSON farmhouse on the hill. OR, could another family have lived in that farmhouse from 1820-1840 ?
What I found out over the weekend is that Fred PRINCE moved his family to Boston in the late 1860's, and he became the .. Mayor of Boston .. in 1877.
So, the HUTCHINSON young children and the PRINCE young children were growing up together 1850's/1860's.
