One thing that you can depend on in researching the history of any surname and that is tons of misinformation. The public information on the Hutto surname is filled with "hope so, maybe so" in effort to connect to Isaac. This maybe the result of little if any research or because records do not exist to permit research.

Here is what I have:

Darling Lee Hutto, b. Abt. 1892. His birthdate is from 1920 census. (His draft Registration of 1917-1918 says his DOB is July 4, 1894.) d. May 1958 (from Wise Hutto who said "Lee had several sons, but they moved off to Kershaw, SC and he died there about May of 1958."

He was married to Belle Williamson, b. Abt. 1887, d. unknown.

They had seven children (years of birth shown are approximate):

Marie, 1909
curtis, 1912
Ludon, 1915
Hubert, 1917
E.J., killed in WWII
Kenny, lived in Great Falls around 1942
Edith Mae, became a pediatrician, lived in NC, never married

I show Rebecca Hutto,1804/1866 married John Prime. Her parents were William Martin Hutto, 1775/1830, and Amelia Murchey, 1781/1865.
The "OTHER" Rebecca Hutto, 7/10/1800,3/16/1878 married James T. Touchton,8/31/1794,8/22/1865. I have her parents to be
John Henry Hutto, 1753/1817 and Anna Katherine Zorn,1758/1837.
The Primes ended up in Iowa/Indiana and the Touchtons were in Georgia. Hope this helps. Neal Hutto

Priscilla's maiden name was Hutto. She appears to be an unwed mother from all the info that anyone has been able to gather. The name or names of the children's father(s) is unknown or no one is willing to share the name(s). Good luck in your search. Priscilla has been a tall brick wall for everyone who researchs the Hutto family; much speculation but no real evidence. I think that each person who has researched her and her family has put the puzzle pieces together differntly.

On 1880 Coffee census Edy A is listed as 53 and born Ga; her father born NC. Living next door to her is a Roda Ivey age 50 (60?, listed as Aunt to Ellen Vining.Roda also lists place of father's birth as NC.

Eady An Vining and Owin are on the 1860 Coffee census. In 1850 Edyan and Owen Vining are in Washington Cty Ga. Living with them is a Joseph Ivy age 26. All born Ga.

Ivy's on 1830 Washington County census are Daniel and Owen Ivy. 1840 are James and John Ivey.

1860 Washington Cty is John Ivey 57 born NC

It is good to hear from you. There are not many replies to my messages about Mary Hutto and Henry Collins. Sometimes I think I they didn't really have nine children!

Henry had a brother, Jeremiah Collins(20 Jun 1824 - 4 Jan 1888). He married Ann Hutto (28 Nov 1825 - 10 sep 1890), daughter of Nicholas Hutto. They had nine children - Mary A, Nicholas, James W, Wiley, Martha, Sarah, Charles, Isaac.

Henry Collins (abt 1820- abt 1880) married Mary Hutto (abt 1821 - btw 1860 & 1870). Their children were Susan, Eliza, Cynthia, Elisabeth, Jashua, David, Henry, Harriet Manorah, Mary Ann. After Mary died, Henry moved to Bulloch County, Ga with the younger children. At least one of his children was in Richmond County, GA in 1880. It is very possible that he was buried in Barnwell wher Mary was probably buried and where some of the older children lived.

Henry's other brothers were John and James. I think James had a son named William.

Got a problem. I have found information on the subject individual, here on Ancestry.com, and wish to confirm which is correct.

I have Rebecca Hutto married to John Prime (1785-1869) with children born from 1824 thru 1848. Including my GGGrandmother Margaret Angeline Prime (27 Jan 1844 - 5 Jul 1920). I have an obituary for her that says her mother (Rebecca) died when she (Margaret) was 12, so that would put Rebecca's death in 1866 vice 1878.

I have also came across family trees that list a Rebecca Hutto(same birth/death dates) married to a James Touchston (1794-1865), with children born from 1825 thru 1849.

Also both sets of records list the same parents for Rebecca.

My questions: Who did Rebecca marry; Is there another Rebecca Hutto that is confusing the issue; etc.

Thank you for any help in straightening this out for me.

Hi Daniel (Cousin). My Great GF was also Dock Ramsey Hutto. One of his sons was John Norman which was my Grandfather. My Dad was Russell Wayne Hutto.

my grandmother Hugie Hutto once told me that we are supposed to be related to the count of Anjou. He is related to the ancient king of France. I can't remember how that came to be. My grandmother died in 1976 so I don't know exactly how that is. I have a copy if the book Issac (otto) Hutto from the German Rhine to the Edisto in Carlina by Edgar Hutto. It starts from he Palatinate.

My grandmother is Seldy, we always spelled Zelda Hutto Wright. She married John W. Wright and had two daughters. Both daughters are still living. John W. Wright had a sister named Fannie and four brothers: George, Jim, Marian, and Lydge, the spelling may not be correct. I am looking for information on John W. Wright's parents and information on John D. Hutto's parents, ect. I have more information on Zelda, Dennis, Barzille, and Irvin.
