Hi, It is great to hear from you. Looks like we have been to a lot of the same cemeteries, my grandmother Sarah is buried in Jones Cemetery as well, and my father Carroll E McElroy is buried here in Quincy, in Greenmount, the same cemetery as Bruce Hutton. His wife Bonnie is not doing so well, she has recently had a stroke and surgery. I have a lot of info on the Huttons, I have a detailed report, which I have included in my on line family tree. I would love to have more information on your grandfather Lloyd's siblings. Is he still living in Jacksonville? I would love to hear from you and exchange more information.
Thanks, Patty McElroy-Smith

I grew in Mill Creek, WV. 1 mile from Huttonsville. I have stayed in 2 Hutton BB's in Huttonsville. The other was called the Cardinal Inn. I am not a Hutton but collect information on families up and down Tygarts Valley. I have 9 Revolutionary War ancestors buried in the Tygarts Valley.

Is it possible to acquire a Hutton family History? If you go to WV vital records website you can access the death records for most WV people that died between 1917 to 1969. Lot's of Huttons buried in the valley. There is also a book entitled "They Rest Quietly" Cemetery Records of Randolph County. It is available in paperback. Most of the Huttons are buried in the Old Brick Church Cemetery. A Louise M. Hutton died last week and was buried there. Go to Elkins Intermountain newspaper to see an electronic version of her obituary.

I could copy the Hutton cemetery pages and send them to you. I also have information on many other Tygarts Valley families and am willing to share.

The BBs were sold a long time ago.

Joe Williams

Thankyou for your reply. The Hutton name I think is n.yorks I believe.[My immediate family area] My father born here in 1900 has a middle name of Milne.2 of my father's father 's siblings [19thC] have also Milne as a middle name. There is a cloudy history re this name and it is associated with Paisley, cotton mills and my father's grandfather James Harvey who was born in Paisley 1848 and it is him who puts the Milne name in the family. I think it could be his mother's maiden name...but guessing. I am agog really to find this out!! and my father's only brother was given forename Stewart. The surname Stewart also appears on the same area as Hutton...as does Harvey. What I wonder is the Scottish Paisley and cotton mills connection

my research on names Hutton and Harvey is taking me very strongly back to Hinderwell areas of Runswick Bay and Whitby in 19thC; also moving on to West Hartlepool and Middlesbrough ; also there is connection with Paisley Scotland . However along with these family names the Stewart surname seems to run thro like a thread ; even my uncle born 1898 was then given xtian name Stewart. I feel sure there is some association with the Stewart family. Also the Milne name connected with Harvey name
I am looking for a date of death for Frederick and/or Hannah Hutton for Schuykill than Lehigh Counties. Frederick Hutton was born in England in 1852 arrived in PA in 1872 married Hannah in 1876 and is found in the 1910 census for Allentown, lehigh, PA but not the 1920 census anywhere so I assume he passed on 1910-1920. Hannah (maiden name Westwood I believe)Hutton his wife was born abt. 1855 in Pennsylvania was found on both the 1910 and 1920 census data for Allentown, lehigh, PA. Any help or additional info would be greatly appreciated and I will share what data I have. Thanks in advance. John

John Hutton emigrated 1843 from Northern Ireland to Canada

My ggg grandfather John Hutton left County Down in Northern Ireland in 1843 and came to Canada. He eventually settled in Middlesex County in Napier. However I believe he may have lived when he first arrived in the Ottawa area. He had one son Craig (mother unknown to me) and another in Napier William A Hutton. Marriage records online show him marrying a Mary Fulton but I was always told his wife was Mary Harris. Any insight about John Hutton's early years in Canada would be greatly appreciated. He was born in 1824, died in 1901

Re: Ann Hutton, b. after 1741, PA?, md. William Reynolds

I am looking for documentation for Ann "Nancy" Hutton who married William Reynolds, 9 Oct 1773, in Guilford County, North Carolina. NewFamilySearch has Ann's father as Lewis Hutton. Another source I have seen shows her father as John Hutton. I have a Lewis Holten/Hulten in Guilford Co. who had a daughter Nancy who married a Reynolds and had a son Lewis Reynolds. The Ann Hutton on NewFamilySearch and on Hinshaws Quaker Records also has a son Lewis Reynolds. I cannot find any source or documentation that proves the parentage of Ann. I have transcribed many records and have seen names like Hulton and Hutton transcribed incorrectly. It's not unusual for the "L" and "t" to have a line across both. I would love to find out who Ann really belongs to so I can either claim her or eliminate her. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am always willing to share what I have found.

I have discovered that my Joseph Hutton was a teacher, born in Ohio, whose parents were born in PA. I am trying to find his city of birth, and place of burial. His first wife, Ann was buried in Old Antioch Cemetery, Jackson Co., WV, and I have a book that says he was buried in New Antioch Cemetery, Jackson Co., WV. However, I have been unable to locate his tombstone. Now I need to know his parents names, so that I can connect our family to the Hutton line.

Its wonderful reading all the history, I recently married into the Hutton Family, my husband doesnt know much about his heritage (in my family it is told from generation to generation). He is currently deployed and I was hopping to get some information about how Huttonville was formed and where those Hutton's came from- I am pretty sure there is some irish in the background as I know my husbands greatgrandmother had green eyes and red hair, and was on the lighter side. But if anyone knows of any stories on why and how Huttonville came to be and where they immigrated from would be great.

It appears that my Huttons may come from Maryland to NJ, but I haven't been able to prove it. The earliest record I have is William C Hutton claiming it, but I have not been able to substantiate it.
I have been wondering if there is a connection to Thomas Hutton who ran a stagecoach from Trenton to New Brunswick iin the late 1700's. It is interesting that the first time I can verify the line, is the marriage of Wm. C and Jane Beatty in 1860 in New Brunswick, NJ.
I haven't been able to get to Maryland Archives to check.
Sorry for thr lat response.
Alyce
