AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Alma A. Hvizdak, 92, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 21, 2010, at Briarfield Manor.
Alma was born Sept. 4, 1918, in Struthers, Ohio (Mahoning County) a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Emma Magan Reedy, was a graduate of Struthers High School and a lifelong area resident.
She was a homemaker and worked for a time at Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio.
Her husband, George Hvizak, whom she married May 2, 1953, passed away in September of 1989.
Mrs. Hvizdak leaves her son, Robert (Lorna) Patrick of Fort Myers, Fla.; her daughter, Carol (George) Yuhas of Austintown, Ohio; a brother, Lloyd (Eva) Reedy of Youngstown; two sisters, Dorothy Mitchell and Shirley (Raymond) Linebaugh, both of Youngstown; six grandchildren, Dr. William (Monica) Houser, Tammy Houser, George (Jill) Houser, Marnie (Edward) McMurray, Robin (Terry) Vickers, and Kelly (Justin) Hill; nine great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael, Shannon, and Alexander Houser, Camryn and Carly Houser, Gillian and Victoria McMurray, and Samantha Vickers; and a son-in-law, William Houser Sr.
Besides her husband, a son, Paul Raymond Patrick, three brothers, Randolph, Paul, and Clair Reedy, and five sisters, Bernice Bertschy, Margaret Yurich, Henrietta Woods, Mary Lou Adams, and Phyllis Walker, are deceased.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 26, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where a memorial service will take place at 4 p.m.
during her illness.
