surname

I am looking for any information that might show the roots of my surname. I have recently found the following connection to Morocco...: Thank you in advance for any input....
*************

The Morrocan connection comes from an article that cousin John David's son had run across while doing unrelated research. In a book concerning a plague that had swept that region in the 1700's. It tells of a "L'Hage Hamed O'Bryhim, the old governor of Mogodor, had 12 or more children and 4 wives who were all attacked and died..." "...He never himself caught the infection; he loved some years afterwards..." That region is now called Essaouira. I have found nothing more.
Said Ibrahim - Turkish Naval Officer?

Said Ibrahim presented a wine decanter to the Officers Mess of S.M.S. König Albert - a Kaiser Class Battleship of the German Imperial Navy in 1917. He was on the ship for at least 2 years and may have been seconded from the Ottoman Turkish Navy. I have found out details about the ship but not about the man. Can you help, please.
