Our Crutcher family came from TN/KY from VA about the time of the Rev. War. One branch of the family came to Missouri and one went to Texas. Larkin Crutcher born c 1760 is our earliest. He is verified as being with several other Crutchers in TN but cannot find his father. His son was Larkin down our line also

I am looking for more information about Isaac Maynard Idell (1880-1908). He married Genetta Long and is buried in the Mt. Harmony Cemetery in Heiskell, TN with son Clifford (1903-1904). Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Hi, Mr Andrew Idell, Ruby is still alive and living about three miles from me, She is the only living child to my knowledge of Alford Idell. We have alot of information on Alford, and I will ask her about his brother and wife, She may not know as she was 9 months old when her dad died. But it could very well be in the papers we have. Hi,

Is Ruby still alive? I noticed this post was almost 2 years old. If so, would she have known Daniel Boone Idell (Alfred's brother)? I have evidence from my family that DB Idell's mother was not Nancy Rutherford, but a Cherokee woman.

Can you confim this or do you have a possible name for the "other woman"?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In researching my family history for Crouchers I discovered they came from Kentucky. My grandfather's family migrated to Texas. He had several sisters and in my research I think a couple married Idells. These Idells were from Tennessee. I found several births on record at the Gainesville, TX court house. If I remember correctly the time was in the twenties and thirties. I am not sure about the city they moved to, but I think it was Cromwell, TX. I cannot verify that. If I can find the information I have I will reply giving you names and dates. Hope this helps.

You didn't give a location of your known IDELLs. My ancestor was Annie IDELL b.about 1851-52 TN. She married Timothy GOINS. I don't have much on this family. I know nothing of her family, yet. Here's what I do have...
1880 Union Co.,TN.census with Timothy and Annie. Children:Chesly or Chelsy, Mary Lou Rinda, Abe or Ibie Arminda, William Ballard and Georgia Marlene. Then they are lost until 1910 in Knox Co.,TN. We find Annie widowed with children Ibbie and Georgia living next door with their husbands Pleasant CONNER (Ibbie) and John Kit ANDERSON (Georgia). The only other info I have links Mary Lou Rinda to Timothy and Annie. This would be her death cert.

My Father was Robert Eugene Idell and my mother is Virginia Ann Cagle Idell.
I have been talking to Aunt Louella Duggar in Gainsville Texas and finding out some about the Idell family and would love to have you share some of your stories or facts about the Idell family.
I was reading today a letter from Joe Kilday from Houston Texas (he married my second cousin in Tennessee) about some of the Idell and your grandfather was one of them.
Alfred Brownlow Idell born February 13- 1859 who married Julia A Farner on December 3-1882.
In 1900 Alfred was living in the 8th district of Greene County with his wife Julia and Four children Vera, JamesC, Lacy M,and Bonnie.
I would like to have anything that you can contribute to our family history.

It shows that Bertha Idell father was August Idell, it also say that her parents were died when she was very small and that her and a sister were rized or adopted by Mr. Mrs. Henry Gruebmeyer of Nennert, Ill, I've been told that her sister got with child and wanted to come an live with Bertha John, but my grandfather did not believe in child with out marriage an it took my grandmother talking blue in the face to change his mined, but by the time he got to the 76 train stop to get her she was gone. we have never heared from her or her family and would love to get to know then. There were some Idells living around or in Gainesville Texas in Cooke County.
My Grandfather, Henry Idell came from Greene County tenn to north texas and then Oklahoma where he raised 7 sons and 3 daughters. I am the youngest son of his youngest son Cecil.

They had three children that I know of:
John born about 1830
Margaret F. born about 1832. She married
Middleton Birdsall. She died 24 Dec. 1886.

There is a site on http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/3326/idell_old_time...
That has a John Idell and many old pictures of the Idell Clan but I have not received any messages back from the poster.
I will try again later this month to contact him.
As you know if you have been looking there is not much about the Idell family on record.
