Hi Paul, my Idles came from Leeds and Dewsbury, we have been in conntact before and I believe quite a few years ago you got in touch with my father James Idle born 1931 died 2002 son of thomas Idle born 1897, died 1943.

MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Annabel M. Idle, 85, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at Unity Hospital.

Services are at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Arturo Carranza of the Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church will officiate. The vocalist is Addi Miller and Evelyn Hetzler is the organist. Pallbearers are John C. Idle, Larry Idle, Brian Marron, Bud Ross, Dennis Bellinger and Duane Bellinger. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church.

Mrs. Idle was born Aug. 20, 1915, in Muscatine, the daughter of John Edward and Tillie Nelson Costello. She married Carl L. Idle Aug. 1, 1944, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1968.

She graduated from Muscatine High School and Moline Public Hospital Nursing School.

She was a life long resident of Muscatine having worked as a Registered Nurse at Hershey and Bellevue Hospitals and Hershey Nursing Home.

She was an active member of the Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church.

Survivors include a son, John C. Idle and his wife, Janemarie, of Indianola; two grandchildren, Larry Idle of Linden, and Diana Marron and her husband, Brian, of Indianola; and five great-grandchildren, Joseph, Tyler, Nicholas and Jessica Idle and Kasey Marron.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Anna Marie; and an infant brother.

Hi Hazel

Yes I do remember you. It has been a very long time! I rarely do anything of family trees these days but tried this website again for the free trial when i was off work with a cold. Quite impressive. I loaded up my Idle tree and one other - and used the Census facility to confirm parts of trees I hadnt resolved. Will probably take a back seat once again though- so many papers and old files ! Do you still keep in touch with Brian? I have sadly lost his address. I think I might have spoken to you and your brother did you come from East London?

Do you remember me from our letters in the 70's you very kindly sent me a copy of the Idle family tree in Brighton my name is Hazel Byford.(my mother was Violet Idle) I was also at Brian's party way back what a lovely day all of us Idle's had. I did get in contact with a lady from Brighton and we were related way back in the 1600's I can't remember her relative but he married my Letice Idle and her family still all live in Brighton. Are you still researching the Idle family tree.

I have a lot of Idle family all in the UK mainly Brighton 1700-1870's then South London 1900's and Kent 1960-2009.
Where are you in the UK
May be we are connected, I have no connection with the USA Idle's.

Hi Jon == Which part of the UK are your Idle from? My grandfather changed the name! - We are from Cumbria/Westmorland we go back to the 1670s but there is a large branch in Yorkshire

I have some info on Charles Idle, born 1839 England . Came to US 1857. Lived in New Mexicao and then Colorado. Married Harriett Ballard 1882. Several children. Died 1922 Colorado. Happy to share.

Hi Michael, I was born Angela Idle in Leeds West Yorkshire and my family are from Yorkshire and as far as I know go back there a very long time. I have traced them back quite some way and there are some Michael's in the tree. I will have a look at this for you and let you know if there is any connection.
I was always told that the Idle family took their name from either the place Idle which is near Bradford in Yorkshire. In fact I still have family living there.

Hi Krista, my maiden name was Angela Idle and my Idle family are all from Yorkshire, we have many Thomas's within the family in fact my grandfather was a Thomas but he was only born in 1897. I do have alot of info on the Idle family and may be able to help you if you can give me some more info.

My family name is Idle and Mary Belle Idle is my grandmother. George Idle and Susan Croninger is my great grandfather and family. The Croningers date back to 1500's in Germany. My family is from Indiana. If you click on Mary Belle Idle the Croninger family comes up. The Idles also were prevalent in England.

My g grandfather was David IDLE son of John and Mary(nee Narron).I have traced back to Michael b.abt 1705 but am stuck there!

Michael Idle

I have been researching my mother's line. She was Amy Idle son of Harry. I have traced the line (with help) to a Sarah who was the daughter of Michael Idle (b.abt 1705 in Lofthouse or Rothwell) and Rose Westerman. I have tried various means to find a) where Michael was born and b) who his father was.
I was told the line goes to Ireland and before that to Germany but I am loath to accept that without proof.
Is there anyone who can help, Please???

Searching for information on Charles T Idle who married Christmas Kelly. I believe they married before 1920, who were their children and ancestors? On the 1920 Census they were in OK City, OK both are 30 years of age. Their son Charles T. Jr. was born in the fall of 1920. Charles T. Idle Sr. served in the Army in WWI. Idles family

I have looked and looked for someone from the Idles family genelogy, with little results. My father was Louis Henry Idles,(born: December 30, 1903 in Union County, TN) his father was William Idles (died: 1948 in Knoxville, TN). I think my great grandfather was Martin Idles.

I know there are Martin Idles and possibly a Henry Idles in the family, but am not sure what the relation is to our family.

My father and grandfather spent most of their lives in Tennessee. Any assistance would be helpful.

I understand there were 2 Idle families in Champaign County, Ohio one English and one German. I believe I am trying to find the German one but not sure. I have a John Idle who worked on the RR. married Lavina Longbrake in Madison County, Ohio in 1879. They had children and moved to Newark in Licking County, Ohio. I feel there is some kind of a connection--------because there are Idle and Baggs surnames in the research I am doing in Logan co.,Ohio I know our BAGGS came from Champaign co.Ohio. Let me know if you think there is any connection here!
