Hi Hazel

Yes I do remember you. It has been a very long time! I rarely do anything of family trees these days but tried this website again for the free trial when i was off work with a cold. Quite impressive. I loaded up my Idle tree and one other - and used the Census facility to confirm parts of trees I hadnt resolved. Will probably take a back seat once again though- so many papers and old files ! Hope all is well with you. Best wishes Paul

I have traced them back quite some way and there are some Michael's in the tree. I will have a look at this for you and let you know if there is any connection.
I was always told that the Idle family took their name from either the place Idle which is near Bradford in Yorkshire. In fact I still have family living there.
Regards Angela

My family is from Indiana. If you click on Mary Belle Idle the Croninger family comes up. The Idles also were prevalent in England.

I have tried various means to find a) where Michael was born and b) who his father was.
I was told the line goes to Ireland and before that to Germany but I am loath to accept that without proof.
Is there anyone who can help, Please???

My father was Louis Henry Idles,(born: December 30, 1903 in Union County, TN) his father was William Idles (died: 1948 in Knoxville, TN). I think my great grandfather was Martin Idles.

I know there are Martin Idles and possibly a Henry Idles in the family, but am not sure what the relation is to our family.

My father and grandfather spent most of their lives in Tennessee.

It is very interesting that you are searching for the Blue Line, I too have Blue that are on my family tree twice. William Blue and Margaret Idle had many children one of which is a William Blue and Samuel Blue. This 2nd William Blue married a(Georgia(Joyessy)? Rilley(joyce Kelly)I find her this way. not legible Spelling off. Well anyway they had 8 children 1 of which is Daisy Blue whom is my GG grandmother. Daisy married a Leonard Purkepile and so far only finding 3 children which Joicy one of them is my G grandmother who had 7 children in which one child was Mrytle Daisy who married a John Thomas Blue who is another line of the First William Blue on Samuel side. If that makes sense. Contact me at lucyslp@yahoo.com. I can share what I have is this is the same Blue line for you

Idle''s

Your message has been helpful. I am tracking the Clouse family, and Lewis Clouse married Julie Anne in Kosciusko Co. Indiana. I found them in the 1880 1900 Census. In 1900, Julie's sister Jane (Elizabeth J.?) was a widow and living with Lewis and Julie. Her last name was Norris, so that matches with your information regarding her marriage to Stephen V Norris. Also in 1900 Census, two girls were living with Lewis and Julie as well, and they were Idle's. I figured they must have been children of a brother of Jane's and Julie's. The names were Zelma b. Feb 1884 and Frankie F., b. Mar 1891. I see you have a Frankie 1889 listed under Talman, but who was Zelma (Florence or Tressa?) Do you know why these two girls were living with their aunt and uncle? I have been unable to find any more information about Lewis and Julie after 1900. Do you have anything about them? Also anything you have about Elizabeth (Jane) and the children mentioned above.
