Hello! Mildred is my aunt. She gave me permission to post her book to a website I have on our family: http://www.ikardfamily.com/famhx.html and has given permission for family members to use the information for personal use. We just returned from a gathering in Idaho Falls, ID and plan to gather next year (Oct 2009) in Wichita Falls, TX (will not be held the same weekend as the Univerity of Oklahoma vs. University of Texas football game). FYI, Burton Ikard's book is also posted there.

Ikard/Ikerd Family Reunion 2007 - Oklahoma City, OK - June 15-17, 2007

We’re getting together Friday-Sunday, June 15-17 (we’ll plan some activities for the 14th, too), 2007, in Oklahoma City (OKC), OK. This is Oklahoma’s centennial! Our hotel is the Biltmore, http://www.biltmoreokc.com/, and they are giving us a special rate of $69/night (plus tax). You will need to mention “Ikard Family Reunion.” We will have a Saturday evening meal (together) at the hotel--info will be sent at a later date. This particular weekend is Father’s Day Weekend. The Aerospace America air show will be held that weekend in OKC, and we’ll send information about that, too. There are several things to see and do in OKC. But, of course, we also want to plan for time to spend with each other. The hotel is close to the airport (Will Rogers World Airport - http://www.flyokc.com/) – both are on the west side of OKC.
Arminta A. IKERD, 12 Oct 1879 - 24 Feb 1899 MS

Looking for maiden name of Arminta A. IKERD, 12 Oct 1879 - 24 Feb 1899, buried Jake Alone Cemetery, Dixie Community, Forrest Co., MS. I am pretty confident (but need further confirmation)that she was the first wife of Andrew J. IKERD, born about 1870 in MS, and the mother of the IKERD infant, born/died 17 Jan 1899 and also buried in the Jake Alone Cemetery. Andrew J. married second Cynthia Enola McInnis and this couple and three children were enumerated in the 1910 and 1920 censuses for Perry Co., MS. The information is needed for a Dixie community history. Many thanks.

I've been working on a descendant list and have a website set up: http://www.ikardfamily.com. If you are a family member, I would be appreciative if you'd review the info in the "Family Tree" area to see if you can possibly add to the info. Note: while I have info on many living family members, it is NOT posted to the site because I fear criminals might try to commit identity theft. But, I would really like to be able to put the information in my database. Looking forward to hearing from all of you.

y

Hi Kenneth,

I was excited to get your reply, but I'm wondering if this is the same Carlton Ikard. Uncle Carlton only had one son named Jimmy. Jimmy farmed in Madison and died of a heart attack at the age of 47. Uncle Carlton had no other children although he did marry again after his first wife died. His first wife was Dorothy Ingram (Huntsville), and his sceond wife was Alice Alexander (Madison). I have heard of a Gary Ikard.....possibly in his early 40's now? But, as far as I know, he is of a different branch of Ikards. My grandfather, Ray, (Carlton's brother) has 4 living sons....my dad lives in Madison; the rest of the boys live in the Toney area. Let me know if you still think this is the same branch. Again, I loved your reply! Thanks! Jan

Well, I'm an Ikard raised in Madison County, Alabama.....soo, perhaps there is a connection here. My great-grandfather was William (Will) Henry Ikard (lived in Madison).....married first to Delilah Vann (New Hope), who died young....had two sons...Carlton Ikard..and Oliver Ray Ikard, my grandfather. Will then married Ivy Dale Alexander and had one daughter, Maureen Ikard. If this sounds like your line of Ikards, let me know.
