It is interesting that your name is Bob Iler for my great uncle who lives in Virigina Beach,VA is Robert Iler.He fought in the Korean War and is a very active memeber of our family.Last i checked he is in his early 90's.

I never knew according to the map that so many lived in ohio.I knew that some lived in chicago, and in fact where involved in research. But I do wonder the geneaological background of everyone.I wonder how to put that together. any suggestions?

I too am interested in finding out more about who and what Iler's are all about.Our family name is a source of great pride from where i am from in Maryland.I fnd all things that are Iler fascinating.I have been meaning to do more research that what I have been doing but it has been limited in these trying times.I would love to hear from you all.

I don't have a lot of information on Henry or Della (Anna Delona was her real name). What I do have can be found on my tree, which is set to public viewing. If you cannot see it, please let me know. http://trees.ancestry.com/pt/pedigree.aspx?tid=1020079

Henry & Della were my great great grandparents. My great grandmother was Hilda - she would've been Earl's (your grandfather's) sister. There were 11 children all together. Haven't been able to find out much about Henry & Della. My mother was practically raised by Hilda, and heard her refer to Della occasionally, but doesn't remember much of where she was from, etc.

If you find anything please let me know! I'd love to know as well. You're welcome to anything info that I have.

Morgan Burritt Iler died on February 9, 2009 at the age of 91. He is a great loss. I hope that his son will continue his work and maintain his database.

Mrs. Courtney when but a child consecrated her life to the work among children and for the past twenty years has been sup0erintendent of the primary department of the First Baptist Church. 10-9-1918 Chattanooga TN obituary. Sterling P. Courtney, aged 34, undertaker and embalmer for Wann & Son and a resident of chattanooga practically all his life, died early yesterday morning at his home, 813 East Fourth Street. He complained last week of not feeling well, but on account of the illness of a member of the undertaking firm, he remained at his post of duty until Saturday afternoon, when he took to his bed. He grew worse Monday night and died shortly after midnight. Surviving him are his wife, who before her marraige was Miss Drue Hayden Iler; one son Richard, age 10; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Courtney; a sister, Miss Katherine; his grandfather, R. H. Parrent; Mrs. J. W. Johnson and Mrs. Sam Sykes of this city, aunts and a number of other relatives. Mr. Courtney was born in Shelbyville, KY. The fmily removed to Chattanooga during his babyhood. He was educated in the local schools and at the Mountain City Businesscollege. For a number of years he was connected with R. H. Parrent in business. He later accepted a position with the Harry E. Chapman Company, then was wiht the L. J. Sharp Co. Since Wann & Son purchased the Sharp company he had been connected with this firm as undertaker and embalmer. He possessed splendid business ability and was very popular with his fellow workers and the members of the firm, was faithful and sonscientious in the discharge of his duty, and a bright future lay before him. He had a host of friends in Chattanooga, who will be shocked to learn of his death. Mr. Courtney was a member of the First Baptist chruch. He was a talented musician and played in the orchstra which furnished music for the YMCA 'big meetings' that were held in the old Majestic Theater. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4 in the funeral parlors of Wann & Son, the Rev. Harold Major, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiatin. Interment will take place in Forest Hills Cemetery. The following are requested to act as pallbearers. T. C> Moladala, J. S. Gillespie, Jack Stith, Marshal Keown, Charles Krumrine and James Dutton.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was teacher of the Courtney Sunday School Class and was an active life deacon. He was a graduate of Carson Newman College and the Chattanooga Law School. A member of the Half Century club, he was retired from Chattern Drug Co. Survivors include his wife Una Liesay Courtney; daughter, Margaret Ann Courtney, both of Chattanooga; son Richard S. She was born in Rogersville, the daughter of Milem and Minnie Belle Livesay. Her sister was Mary Brown Livesay Nash and brother-in-law Ed Nash.

She grew up in Rogersville and graduated from the local high school in 1926. She attended Carson Newman College, graduating cum laude with a bachelor?s degree. She taught algebra for 21 years at GPS before retiring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Sterling Courtney.

She is survived by a son and his wife, Richard Jr., and Nancy Courtney of Atlanta; a daughter, Margaret Ann Courtney of Chattanooga; two granddaughters, Beth Courtney of Atlanta and Amy and her husband, Jeff Jones; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Virginia Jones of Suwannee, Ga.; a sister, Gladys De Lozier, her son and wife, Sam and Pat De Lozier and their son Paul, all of Maryville.

Funeral service was conducted Sunday, October 10, 2004 in the McEwen Chapel of First Baptist Church, Chattanooga.

East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Doesn't look like our Iler's were related in any of my research. Also, have you looked at the different spellings for Iler/Eihler/Eiler. The spelling was changed according to the information I have received from Morgan Iler, mbiler@juno.com, he was a huge help to me with my Iler family tree.

Hello Iler family! I'm looking for any information on William Iler (b. abt. 1817), from New York. He was married to Leafy J. Wilcox (b. Jan 08, 1825)from spring Mills New York. Leafy died Feb 22, 1922 in Troy, (Rensselaer Cty)New York. Additonally, she is buried in Oakwood cemetery in Troy, NY. I believe they had the following children:

Elizabeth Iler (b. abt 1838 d?)
Mary Iler (b. abt 1840 d.?)
William Iler, Jr. (b. abt 1842 d.?)
Eugene Phineas Iler (b. 1864 in Troy, NY and d. 1917 in Canada)

Hello all! I'm looking for information on a Henry Iler, It's possible his full name was Henry Ulyssis Iler. He was married to Anna Delona (Della) Walker. I believe he was born in Kentucky, but I have no clue when or where or who his parents were. I don't have much on Della either.

I do know that they had at least 11 children (possibly 13 - with 2 baby deaths). The kids names are:

Rudy - male
Earl - male
Adrian - male (rumor has it Adrian died in a smoke stack accident)
Garnetta - female
Dorothy - female

I have no information on the mother of Nicholas BOHN b. abt 1736, Germany.

I'm in the military and currently stationed in Germany. I've been researching the BOHN family here. My research points towards the small village of Nussbaum for this family. The church records for Nussbaum are missing from 1711 to 1798.

Members of the BOHN family did move to other villages in the area, including Bad Sobernheim, Boos and Obermoschel. There are records for the time period in these other locations.

Everything that I can find seems to point toward Johann Diel BOHN being born and marrying in Nussbaum, BUT I cannot prove that. I have also found no evidence to indicate the name of his first wife.

I am a chaplain in the Army and currently stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The BOHN family came from an area very close to here.
I'm writing an article on the BOHN family in Germany. I want to include an appendix on the descendants of Johann Diel BOHN. Catherine is his granddaughter. Her father was Nicholas BOHN/BOONE
I would like the information on this line up to 1850 and would like to be as accurate as possible. You will notice that I do not have a lot on Jacob ILER/EILER. I would appreciate any specifics you can add on dates of birth, marriage, death.

I would appreciate any information you might have. I have just emailed Laura asking her if her research indicates that Nicholas Boone, Sr. had three wives:
Anna Maria, Barbara Burrier, Rachel DeBerry. I believe that "Catharina" Bohne was a child of marriage #1, and "Catharine" Bohne (Boone) was a child of marriage #2. --- I do not know the mother of Nicholas, Sr. (wife of Johann Diel Bohne). Do you have that information. Some researchers suggest "Mary?"

Do you have information regarding John Iler, Sr., John Iler, Jr. , Harvey Wilson Iler. If you do not, and wish to have names, dates of those who followed Catharine Bohne and Jacob Eiler Iler, Sr., I would be happy to provide that information--at least what I have.

My Grandfather was William Frank Iler, married Hazel K. Paul. William was the son of Francis M Iler and Sophronia Flack. William F. Iler's DOB: 6/15/1879 born in Ill.
Don't think there is any connection but maybe this helps.

My William Franklin Iler was born 6/15/1879 in Ill. son of Francis M. Iler & Sophronia Flack. He had 2 sisters Lucy, b. 1873 in Ill; and Mary b. 1877 also in Ill.
I will tell you that my biggest help with the Iler genealogy was from Morgan Iler on line who has a whole site dedicated to the Iler (Eilher, Eiler, Eilar, Eyler-Oyler) family. Hope that helps. his e-mail address: miler@juno.com. Good luck.

so glad to hear back from you. I hadn't gotten a newsletter from Morgan in a while and wondered if he was o.k., now I know. He was such a big help to me. My Mom was the Iler, and I happen to ask my father why it was so difficult finding anything on her family, that's when he explained the spelling differences, which I am so glad he did, otherwise I would still be hunting. Amazing how little things can slow down your search.
I am now having a difficult time with another family name, on my Mom's side, "Paul" last name of my Iler grandmother's maiden name. Very difficult finding anything past her father. That is my main concentration right now. Good luck with yours. Wish I could have helped. JAR

All the info I have on this couple. They were married in Morgan county, ILL, USA. Lewis is my gr-gr-uncle and I want this info to fill in all branches of our family tree. I don't know about others, but everyone connected to anyone in my family tree is important to me; they have their own little twigs that are hooked to my trunk.
