I was a good friend of your mother if she went to Schurz HS and graduated around 1971. She and your grand parents and you as an infant shared a yard with my uncle George. If this is the same vera please have her look me up on facebook as Bonnie Zielinski-Mroz. I would love to hear from her. I remember your grand parents they were lovely people your grandfather was very quiet and thin. Your mother was in love with the musical group "Monkeys"

My grandparents Dragica and Milosav Ilic moved from Serbia (former Yugoslavia) in 1980. They lived in Chicago Illinois for a while then moved here to southern California. My name is Irena, if you guys sound like distant family or something let me know.
My family is from the villages Radinac, Lozovik, and Smederevo.

My grandmother was Kate Ilic. Her father was Ante/Anthony Ilic and her mother was Rosa Busija. Kate's sister was Anka.

Kate was born in Gospic, Lika, Croatia and came to America in 1920. She had relatives in Portland, OR and in Wyoming.

80 year old widow searching for her husbands gravesite.

his name is Dragoljub ilic. he died in 1966

family said he is buried in St Sava Cemetery in Libertyville Illinois north of chicago.but cemetery has no record of him.

i was looking for the cemetery, thought name was probably misspelled. but that cemetery isnt online.

The ILIC I am researching died in Chicago,IL.
Dragolub ILIC was the youngest of 21 children
and he married Irgmard(Kathy) Klang. I don't know if they married before coming to the USA
or if they married here, but they had 6 children:Zivota,died at 18 yrs in Chicago,Il also,Mary, Milan(Mike), Novak, Jovan, and Eleja (Eli).Does any of this sound familiar?

I found out last night that the father of the Dragolub Ilic I am researching was from Yugoslavia and he was the youngest of 21 children. Could there be a connection between the Ilic's your seeking and the Ilic's I am seeking?

I have learned that Dragolub Ilic's father was Yugoslavian and his mother was German.
And, he was the youngest of 21 children, many of his siblings would have descendents also.Their somewhere. Dragolub and his wife married in Germany and had 2 children when they came to USA together(I learned last night also)in 1951,to NY for 2 yrs, then IL.
where Dragolub died as did their oldest son
Zivota Ilic in Chicago,Cooke Co,IL His wife
and other 5 children eventually settled in Texas. If I find any connection, I will let you know and hope you will do the same.

Dragolub was the youngest of 21 children, and he and Kathy had 6 children. Dragolub died in Chicago,Il.
It is believed they were from Germany and sailed over in 1951 in New York, stayed there for about 2 years and went to St. Louis

My grandfather was Ivan (John)Ilich and my grandmother was Roza (Rose)Ilic. They came to America in the 1920's. The only difference in there names was the "h" at the end. I have letters from Rose's mother and father who were Frank and Marie Ilic. They were from Licko Lesce near Gospic. My father says that one of my grandparents lived in a village similiar to their last name (Ilic?) There is mention of a Ruzica in an old letter from my great grandfather. Other names that I know is my grandmother had a brother Anthony and maybe a sister Anka. I believe my grandfather had a brother that lived in Wyoming. My grandparents lived in Detroit Michigan. There could be...I really don't have much info about my grandfather. He died when I was 6 (1981). I know he fought in WWII with the Yugoslavian Royal Army and came to Chicago after the war with Krystal Moller. He had many brothers and sisters, but only child, Vera Ilic(born in Chicago).

i know that there is a town named ilic in dalmatia/croatia. my grandfather bozo was born there. to my knowledge you have serbian and croatian ilic, the c has a different mark on top. i am born in ivankovo/croatia in 1964. if anybody has questions i,ll be happy to help.
