Laura Ingalls extended family

I am just curious about relations to this great family. I am trying to do a school project with the information I receive so please help.

I know Laura (1867-1957) married Almanzo Wilder (1857-1949) and they had one child, Rose (1886-1968). I also know Rose married and took the name Lane. My question is; what was her husband's name and did they have any children?

Laura's sisters, Caroline/Carrie (1870-1846) and Grace (1877-1941), also married but I have the same question as above for these two wonderful ladies!

I am also curious about the siblings of Laura's father, Charles (1836-1902).

My final query, for now, has to do with Laura's mother, Caroline (1839-1924). She had two sisters, Martha (1837-1927) and Eliza (1842-1931), and three brother's, Joseph (1834-1862), Henry (1835-1882), and Thomas (1844-1903). The same question I have been asking I would like answered for these family members as well.

I am looking for descendant information on Laura Ingalls Wilder. I was told I am related to her, and have'nt been able to make the connection yet. He was married to Idalean Simpson b.Nov.20,1913 d.Oct.1994, California. His parents were Ruby Garrison d.Dec.1941,(70 years old) and Austin Johnson Beers d.Dec.1929.
Laura Ingalls Wilder Genealogy

Hi,

I am trying to put together a birthday present for my mother. I wanted to give her a genealogy/family history of Laura Ingalls Wilder. If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it as I have only just recently had the brainwave for this idea and my mother's birthday is alarmingly near. I am looking for the genealogy, copies (digital or otherwise) of old newspaper articles, census records, photos, letters and anything else which may make this a great "visual" history rather than just a string of dates. I am finding some stuff on my own, but I was hoping that there may be people out there that can help me by "donating" their research to the cause, as it were. I would be very happy to fully credit anyone who assists, though this will not be a published work. I do not wish to take anyone elses work, just make a great gift for my mother. I would also be thrilled with web addresses where I can find more info or download those things that I am looking for. I am primarily a genealogist so any information on any part of the family no matter how distantly related would be a welcome relief to my frantic effort to get this finished on time and looking spectacular. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you so much in advance!!

My husband and I are taking my mother, whose maiden name is Ingalls and is now 85, to Mass. to visit Lynn, Andover, etc. Since we are all descendents from Edmund, I am assuming many others have explored the area and know just what we should visit. We aren't leaving until August so have time to do a little research. I do have the Ingalls Genealogy book and that really is why we want to see our roots. Any suggestions???,

Does anyone know about a James L. Ingalls? I have: b. 1839 NY/d. bef 1920 in Sioux Falls, SD. (1910 Minnehaha Co., SD census: ed 320/p 3B).

James L. Ingalls married Mrs. Sarah G. (Courtney) Turner on 16 Dec 1906 in Woodbury Co., IA. Looks like this was James L. Ingalls second marriage.

This was Sarah's second marriage (Charles Wesley Turner - d. Sioux Falls 13 Jan 1901). She moved to Los Angeles, CA (1920 census) - without James. Any info would be appreciated!

INGALLS, GEORGE ALAN; Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient - Vietnam

Source: http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/moh1.htm

Note: This is not my ancestry. I have NO additional information. I am just passing along information that may be useful.

INGALLS, GEORGE ALAN

Rank and organization: Specialist Fourth Class, U.S. Army, Company A, 2d Battalion, 5th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile). Place and date: Near Duc Pho, Republic of Vietnam, 16 April 1967. Entered service at: Los Angeles, Calif. Born: 9 March 1946, Hanford, Calif. Citation: For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty. Sp4c. Ingalls, a member of Company A, accompanied his squad on a night ambush mission. Shortly after the ambush was established, an enemy soldier entered the killing zone and was shot when he tried to evade capture. Other enemy soldiers were expected to enter the area, and the ambush was maintained in the same location. Two quiet hours passed without incident, then suddenly a hand grenade was thrown from the nearby dense undergrowth into the center of the squad's position. The grenade did not explode, but shortly thereafter a second grenade landed directly between Sp4c. Ingalls and a nearby comrade. Although he could have jumped to a safe position, Sp4c. Ingalls, in a spontaneous act of great courage, threw himself on the grenade and absorbed its full blast. The explosion mortally wounded Sp4c. Ingalls, but his heroic action saved the lives of the remaining members of his squad. His gallantry and selfless devotion to his comrades are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon Sp4c. Ingalls, his unit, and the U.S. Army.

Burial: Riverside, CA in Crestlawn Memorial Park

1946 - 1967

Additional Information and cemetery monument photo:

http://www.homeofheroes.com/gravesites/states/pages_go/ingal...
I suspect that Delia, Della, Dillie, Dilla Ingalls is really Deliverance Ingalls whose father and mother were Darius Ingalls, Sr. and Loderma Lee. The dates fit: the only visable name listed among the Wyndham County, CT History data with a possible nickname of Dillie, etc. fits the name Deliverance. Does anyone have factual information to support my suspicion?

Gardner Ingalls Anson Maine

I am looking for information on the parents of Gardner Ingalls of Anson Maine b. abt 1832 died 1864-1870. The 1850 Census lists him as 17 living with Nathaniel Ingalls age 70 and Sarah Ingalls age 58 both born in Mass. Nathaniel shows up in Anson as early as the 1830 Census and a boy between the ages of 10-15 is in the household. Is this Gardner's father(the boy) or is Nathaniel? Is Sarah a grandmother or mother of Gardner? And who are Nathaniel and Sarah's ancestors? If anyone has a clue to my mystery please help.

Ingalls Family Tree DNA Project

An Ingalls Surname genealogical DNA project has been started at the following website:

http://www.familytreedna.com/

Only males have a Y chromosome. This Y chromosome is passed from father to son and changes very little over time. This makes it possible to trace paternal lineage through surname which is also passed from father to son. The DNA test is a simple mouth swab test which is mailed to you and you do at home.

This is NOT a paternity test nor does it look for or identify genetic disease. Results are given in numerical markers. You choose how many markers will be tested. Currently there are 12, 37 or 59 marker tests used in genealogy. Individuals with the same surname are compared for similarities. Depending on the similarities or differences between individuals with the Ingalls surname, it is possible to identify a common known ancestor with others of similar markers. This may verify relationships or give your research an added boost if you have hit a brick wall.

This only works with males. So ladies if you have an Ingalls father, brother or male cousin encourage them to be tested. Females can have DNA testing but the results are not relevant to Ingalls genealogy.

Please consider joining the project. This is a newer and more scientific method of tracing lineage.

Please visit the website at FamilyTreeDNA.com. Search the Ingalls Surname project, visit my cousin's website on The Ingalls Family which is linked at FamilyTreeDNA.com on the surname page. For more information you may also write to me at JHend42071@aol.com
Daniel Ingalls born about 1806 New Hampshire

Seeking information and ancestry of Daniel Ingalls who was born about 1806 in New Hampshire. He was married to Nancy Heath who was also from New Hampshire. Sometime after 1850 this family removed to Metomen and Ripon, Fon du Lac County, Wisconsin. Daniel died there in 1855. I have reason to believe that Daniel's father may have been Samuel also of New Hampshire. This Daniel does not appear in Burleigh's book. There appears to be more mistakes in Burleigh's book than first thought. Use this book with some caution. Any help with this family would be truly appreciated.

Laura Jean Ingalls obit from NY 2006

PLATTSBURGH Laura Jean Ingalls, 90, of Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.

She was born in Chazy, N.Y., in 1915, the daughter of James and Laura (Graves) Ingalls. She graduated from Plattsburgh High School and attended Simmons College.

Laura was a librarian at the Plattsburgh Public Library for her entire professional career. She was an avid reader with a strong fondness for cats and bridge. Laura never turned her back on a charity.

A partial verse from the senior class poem (which she wrote) foretold her life ... May we find in our way of living The work that our hearts shall please. (The Barker, 1932).

Laura dedicated her life to community service. She was the recipient of the United Way Distinguished Citizen Award, the Outstanding Service Award from the Plattsburgh Rotary Club and the DeWitt Clinton Masonic Award for community service from the Northern Light Lodge. She did volunteer work for the Red Cross and CVPH. She was particularly well known for her Sunday dinners at the USO for Air Force personnel and their families.

Although she never married and was without any surviving relatives, her life was not without joy and fulfillment. Love came to Laura late in her life in the form of Don Edwards, a retired court clerk and widower. They became inseparable and were totally devoted to each other. Laura would want her friends to know that she was thankful for her life and that she had no regrets.

Services will be at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh, on Tuesday, Jan. 3, from 1 to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations for scholarships may be made to the Barker Fund, Plattsburgh City School District.

Im not related
info from www.PressRepublican.com
obituary archives

DATA: Ingalls, P. W. listed in 1929 Richmond, VA yearbook

DATA Message RE: The Marshallite, 1929 John Marshall High School yearbook (Richmond, VA).

This yearbook lists the members of the Senior class of 1929, faculty members, members of the Corps of Cadets, and many members of various clubs (not all). Unfortunately, it does not list the names of the members of the Junior, Sophomore or Freshmen classes (only officers listed for those classes). It includes the following name(s):

Ingalls, P. W.

There's over 1,900 records, so I've only listed the name(s), as it appears in the yearbook in this message.

If you would like to view all of the information that I extracted from the yearbook, I have uploaded it to my freepages genealogy web site. The link to the first page of these extracts on my web site is:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/family/r...

Or it can be accessed through the "General Research" link on the main page at:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/index.ht...

Please note that my site contains free genealogy related data & IS NOT a "commercial" or "advertising" site. Until I can get back out & do research on my own families, my hobby is posting free genealogy related data online that may help other reseachers. I put all kinds of genealogy information on my web site (including information others send to me to share on the site), not just data about the families I am researching (therefore I can't answer questions about everyone I have listed on the site). I hope the information I've put online helps someone with their research . . .

Susan :)
Sassytazzy's Online Genealogy Research Library
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/index.ht...

Jeremiah Ingalls Music Celebration in Vermont

Hello All:

I am not an Ingalls relative, but a music teacher & scholar whose research is on the life and music of Jeremiah Ingalls, (1764-1828) the church composer whose wife was Mary Bigelow. He was born in Andover MA, son of Abijah Ingalls and Elizabeth Hutchinson, lived and composed in Newbury, VT, then moved to Rochester / Hancock, VT where he had most of his children, many of whom seemed to have traveled out west to Ohio and beyond.

If you are a relative of this Ingalls branch or have an interest in him or his music, we are having a free celebration of his life and music this summer in Newbury, VT on July 23rd to commemorate the 200th anniversary of his original tunebook which contains some BEAUTIFUL music!!!!

http://homepage.mac.com/malonet/connexion2/FileSharing2.html

In fact I am editing a modern version of Ingalls' book so that people can sing his music again and hear how wonderful it is.

http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7761g/id6.html

If any of you would like to visit Vermont in the summer, it's beautiful as well! My family roots are in the Windsor Co. VT, area so I can tell you the Connecticut Valley is some gorgeous landscape.

While not quite an Ingalls reunion, this totally free event would be enriched if descendents of Jeremiah's or Ingalls enthusiasts were there to share family history and their family spirit.

Anyone who has information on the lives of Jeremiah or his children from family sources, can freely write me, I will eventually be compiling a research for a dissertation on the subject, so your help would be invaluable.

Thanks I look forward to hearing from you,

Thomas B. Malone
Boston University
tmalone@bu.edu

Are there one or two daughters of John (s/o immigrant Edmund) named Elizabeth? One version available has an Elizabeth(1) b. 1671 in Lynn, MA, d. 1676, and second who m. Benjamin Crabtree in 1700/01, but no b. or d. dates; other versions have Benjamin m. to an Elizabeth(2) who was said to be dead before the marriage. Can anyone provide vital stats for a second Elizabeth? or is the death date given for the first really that of John's sister Elizabeth who m. Francis Dane?

Ingalls Genealogy online

I've added a genealogy of the Ingalls families to my website with 1670 people listed, most with the surname Ingalls. It is at:

http://www.dahoudek.com/LIW/ingalls/index.htm

The primary focus is/was on tracing the family ancestry of author Laura Ingalls Wilder but it took off in other directions as I wanted to trace related lines and those in geographical proximity to Laura's family (such as a Pepin, WI Ingalls family only distantly related to Laura). Emphasis is on those with the surname Ingalls, those some female (name-changed) lines are also traced. Biographical and census notes are included throughout. Ingalls relatives include a Civil War Union General, a US Senator, and the 20th president of the USA.

Deb
http://www.dahoudek.com/LIW
Hiram Ingalls

Hi! I am fairly new at this. I do have Ingalls in my family. Hiram Ingalls was born in Oneida County, New York. He came to Ohio, served in the Civil War and was shot and killed
during a battle in Virginia. His son, my great grandfather, was Harrison Ingalls, born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, July 16, 1943, served two terms in the Civil War, and died in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 1n 1901. I purchased a book on line 'Ingalls Genealogy'. It doesn't list a Loucretia but it lists six (6) Lucretias. I will real through them to see if one of them was married to a William Henry Harrison. The name Harrison caught my eye, but because of President William Henry Harrison I'm sure a lot of people named children after him. I will also look up William and Ruth Ingalls.
Lynn Loftus E-Mail: lynnlof@msn.com
2/5/03

I found a reference to Samuel Ingalls, 1654-1733, as "Sergeant". Anybody know what unit or war period this would refer to? He was in Andover, Essex Massachusetts.
