It's so good to hear from you. I have tried to locate the boys but have not had any luck. We are living in Webster, Texas now just outside of Houston. We are in an apartment, the same ones Jeani lives in. I am not in good health, have COPD and on oxygen 24/7 so Jeani wanted us closer to her and the hospital.WE will talk more after you get this.

I was at a garage sale recently and bought a picture frame that has a picture of John Pobert Moore born April 30, 1803 ____County, Virginia and Martha Jane Inge Moore born Nov 3 1823_____________County, Va died May 18, 1892. It also has place of burial as Crawfordville Baptist Cemetery, Taliaferro Co., Georgia
Parents of Rebecca Jane Moore(Mrs. Arthur "Coss" Ogletree and great grandparents of Lillian O Forster.
Are these your relatives. I would love to get the picture to someone who would cherish it.

My husband is the Great Nephew of William Inge. I don't believe we have any family in Virginia. Inge's family was in Kansas and now only in Ohio and Connecticut.

I am trying to find the papers that Sunderland may have left unpon his death relating to various American families that he worked on. Do you know any more about him or exactly when he died? For some reason I was under the impression that he had died in the 1940's or 1950's.

Looking for descendants of Robert Inge and William INge who married into the David Drinkard family of Concord, VA. William married Annie Drinkard in the late 1800's. Robert married Laura Drinkard in the same era. Wm.&Annie lived in Roanoke area, I believe. Laura and Robert settled in Big Island, VA. I have their obits. if interested.

I an seeking info. on the family of Ward ING who married Carrie Robinson d/o Horace Robinson and ? Little (both b. abt. 1858). Carrie and Ward Ing had a son named Milton Ing. Carrie would have been b. abt. 1878 or later. Her siblings were Elizabeth, Susan, Nellie, Jane, and Cora Malvina Elizabeth Robinson who married Vaden Hendricks. I would also like the first name of Carrie's mother ? Little. the Robinson family lived and farmed in Perry Co., IL. Many of the Robinson girls remained unmarried and tended the farm after the death of their parents. I can only assume that the Robinson children were b. in Perry Co., IL. and later lived in E. St. Louis, St. Clair Co., IL. I have no info. on the Ing family.

Ellen Harrison Inge, wife of the late Hon Francis J Inge, a lifelong resident of Mobile, died at the family home, 1410 Government Street, Sunday morning, December 17, 1939. She is survived by two sons, Hon Francis H Inge and Richard H Inge, both of Mobile; two nieces, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church this morning at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Roche Funeral Home directing.

I have recently come across a photograph and an 8mm film which we are converting to CD. These items belonged to my grandmother, Myrtle (Laffoon) Christie. The photograph is from the 1920's and was taken in Virginia. On the back my grandmother wrote the names Benny Inge and Gracy Inge. The 8mm film has a note which says, "Taken on trip from Chicago to Virginia, 1943 - Myrtle Christie. Harold, Lil and Bobby Inge."

If anyone in the Inge line would like copies of these photos, please contact me.

Do you have any information on Benny Inge and Gracy Inge? Are you interested in a photograph of them?

I have a photo of my grandmother, Myrtle Lafoon. There are four other adults and three children in the photo. Two of the children are my mother and her brother. On the back of the photograph my grandmother wrote the names - Benny Inge, Gracy Inge and Lucy Sance (not sure of first letter of this last name). That leaves one child and one adult unidentified. I believe I can accurately date the photo to 1929. My mother is wearing the same dress she wore in another photo in which my grandmother wrote her name and age as 3 years. She was born in 1926.

If you're interested, I'd be happy to scan the front and back of the photo and send it to you. I'd also appreciate any information you could give me on the folks in the photo.

There are a few Inges in Raleigh, NC. You have Jack Inge and Lamont Inge(wife Dolores/Sneaky) Then there children. Jack and Lamont's father was Harry Inge forgot mother's name. Jack and Lamont also had a few sisters One they called Blacky and then there is Gloria and Peggy and a couple more. Hope this helps.

I'm searching for the parents names of Martha Jane Inge. She and John Robert Moore are my 4th great grandparents. I don't have much on the Skinners except for a couple of names but would greatly appreciate anything on the Inge side further back than Martha Jane. Understand her mother was Cherokee Indian. I do have quite a bit further back on the Moores if you are interested.

Mrs. Arvil Inge maiden name was Sarah Louise Ransone. Her mother was Sarah E. Roberts who was married to J.T. Ransone. Sarah E. Roberts parents were Cornelius Harden Roberts and Martha Ann Waters. Sarah Louise Ransone Inge was my Aunt and I took care of her the last 2 and half years of her life.Would like to hear from you.

I do not have records of Sarah E. Roberts being born in Ware Co. Her children told me she was born in Waycross, Georgia.

A Roberts cousin from Calf. says that they understood Hard came from Georgia to Alabama. And lived for some time in Winston County. Then later moved to Walker County, Al. Hard is buried in Al.

John and Sarah Roberts Ransone lived in East Point, Georgia. Their children claim they were all born in East Point by the same Dr. A Dr. Thrimble. I have affidaivd from Dr. that John T.Ransone got for his daughter Sarah Louise Ransone Inge for S.S.

Also in 1910 Georgia census shows John and Sarah Ransome living on east point road with 2 children Lillian B. and Dennis C.

I have a document created by one Capt. F.H. Sunderland of Howden, Yorkshire, England in the 1970s. he was paid to research the above connection. I include his summation only. If anyone wants all the detail, contact me and I'll make arrangements. RPI

" The connection of Inge of Virginia(later of NC and Ala.) is proved absolutely by this table; the pedigree would be improved in its later stages by addition of items which are known only in the states., and if the parents' names of V,B,VI, VII and VIII could be obtained it would make the particulars more completre and lasting; all records have a permanent character when preserved, so copies might be made and placed in public libraries and other archives."

I never get on here long enough to figure out how to use this site, so any Inge descendents who can help me-please do.
My line is through Isabella Inge who if I remember right, married Robert Bell. Isabella was born in Appomatox, Va. But all the records were burnt when the Courthouse caught on fire. Someone recently sent me a notice through ancestry.com which was as follows:

Whoever sent this, please contact me, or help me find you on this site. After the above message it said I could find the info by clicking on the 40 Isabella Inge. When I do, I am sent to no wheresville. I'm sure it is my lack of knowledge about the site. So, please help. I've searched long and hard for the Inges. I believe Isabella died in Lynchburgh, Va. When I went to her grave, a relative had put up a new tombstone, which gave NO information on it. So, please help. BTW, Isabella's parents, I am guessing is one of the families that owned land on the road where General Lee surrendered at Appomatox.

Little Francis was indeed a child of fortune, as beautiful gifts were showered upon him, but none was enjoyed more than his party, which he shared with Scranton Dunlap, Marie Murphy, Emma McAlpine, Julia Buck, George Edward Stanard, Sadie Lyons, Santos Rubira, Norborne Clarke, Alise Hall, Catherine Van Antwerp, Harry Hervey, Carol Wright, Henry Tonsmeire, Barry and Marian Lyons, Leopold Lowenstein and Alice Harrison."

Yes, Inge is a Scandinavian name. I know that it is a Norwegian name, since I'm from Norway myself. But I don't know about Sweden and Denmark. But it's defenitly a Norwegian name.
