Surnames: Ingersoll gunnison
All of the sources that Rick posted are secondary or tertiary sources and the information contained in them are estimations and derivations.

A source I Googled says that Portland/Falmouth was destroyed by the Indians in 1675 and resettlement started in 1680. So I doubt very much that John was born there in 1645.
I did not mention in my posting that I now think that John INGERSOLL was the one born in Salem 12: 7m 1644 (12 Sep 1644) son of John INGERSOLL and Judeth (Felton).
John INGERSOLL died before 4 Apr 1716 when his will was proved.
