My previous post stated that trees at Ancestry.com have Lydia Weatherly dead in 1853. This is not correct. I should have checked my own tree before posting.

Lydia married Benjamin Hughes/Hughs in Gibson County and you will find the entire family, along with some of the Ingle children, on the 1860 census:

Indiana Marriage Collection, 1800-1941
Name:	Lydia Ingle
Spouse Name:	Benj Hughes
Marriage Date:	8 Jul 1858
Marriage County:	Gibson
Source Title 1:	Gibson County, Indiana
Source Title 2:	Index to Marriage Record 1850 - 1920 Inclusive Vol
Source Title 3:	W. Original Record Located: County Clerk's O
Book:	2
OS Page:	277

1860 census Washington Twp Gibson County:
Benjamin Hughs age 29 farmer 180 Kentucky
Lidia Hughs 39 North Carolina
Henry Hughs 5 male Indiana
Jackson Ingle 18 Indiana
George Ingle 12 Indiana

The ages for Benjamin and Lydia may not be correct on the 1860 census.

Samuel Ingle's first wife was Margaret Crowder. They were married in Harrison County on 21 Aug 1834. James M. Ingle married to Martha J. Underhill was their son.

Lydia Weatherly may have been Samuel's second wife but I haven't been able to find a marriage for them in Dubois, Crawford, Harrison or Perry County. There are trees that have them married about 1842 and Lydia dying in 1853.

It is believed they are all buried at Thompson's Chapel Cemetery in Harrison County, Indiana.

Is it possible that Lydia is actually Margaret?

Hi, first, my Grandfather was William Francis Ingle from Buncombe Co., NC, born 1848. His only wife was Nancy Anna Oden Ingle, from Alabama. The Ingle family included eleven
(11) children ; my father was the youngest child and the bible with all names, dob and dod are included in the old worn bible. I happened to be the last person to be in charge of making entries into the bible because all the siblings are dead. I am only the third holder of the bible; the first was my grandmother, Nancy Anna who died in 1940, it then went to my aunt and was given to me shortly before she died in 1973. You are welcome to go to my tree,
Ingle Family Tree. I have found some conflicts with Ancestry and census as to spelling, etc and the bible has always been correct. That is why the lady "Jennie V. Ingle"
does not exist in our family. The closest name is Vinnie D.
Ingle (Gardner) dob dec 1876, or Janie E. Ingle (Gilmore) dob 02/16/1881. I hope this rambling account is of some use to you. Mary Ann ngle - Turk

According to the Ingle Family Bible, there are no names in the immediate family with the information above. There were no births in 1874, nor in AR. The closest Ingle's were Janie E Ingle, DOB 12/16/1881 and Vinnie D. Ingle dob 10/22/1856. In view of this, I don't believe this lady is a member of my tree. I believe this is the father of WINNEY INGLE who married BENJAMIN HANCOCK and NATHAN INGLE who married NANCY HANCOCK. There are several others that could be connected to this family.
I am not sure if I gave this to you or someone else seems like it is much requested info:

o	In 1776, Paulser came with his family to Charlestown, SC. He had been hired as a mercenary by the federal government.

Did you ever find out anything about "william Jacob Ingle"? I can't find out very much about him, except family tradition says he was an abolitionist and fought for the Union side in the Civil. It is said he died at Bull Run, but I can't find his name any where that proves that. I find several William Ingles on the Union side. But none from North Carolina. If he fought for the Union, then he must have joined in Maryland or somewhere else. Then I cant find a William Ingle who died in the Civil War, except as a Prisoner of War. What do you have? Thanks, Joy

Mary, I think we are related. I am related to Michael Ingle b. 1820 who married Amanda Hynds (marriage doucument says Manda Hynds, census documents have her as Amanda); they were married in Harrison Co., Indiana. Some in family had her listed as Hymes. There has been a lot of confusion because there was a Jr. and Sr. Adam Ingle. Michael's father I'm pretty sure was Adam Ingle, Jr. who married Elizabeth Sliger in Washington Co, Tennessee. All their family lived there and died but Adam Ingle, Jr moved to Indiana with Elizabeth and bought land. Adam Ingle, Sr.remained in Washington Co. (1754-1847) and I think his dad was William Ingle (1729-1807). Michael and Amanda had a daughter, Julia Ann Ingle who married John Sigler in Indiana. This is my lineage through Michael. If anyone has any further info please contact me through ancestry. I have family in Perry Co. and Crawford Co. Indiana.

Hi Mary, Your Adam Ingle married to Elizabeth sounds like my lineage. He was a Jr. and there was an Adam Ingle, Sr., his father who remained in Tennessee. Adam and Elizabeth migrated from Washington Co., Tennessee. I have Elizabeth's last name as "Sliger". There are many Ingles and Sligers in Washington Co., Tennessee who remained there. I am doing deeper research on this. They were married in Tennessee, then moved to Harrison Co., Indiana and bought land. I'm sure my lineage had a son, Michael Ingle, b. 1820. I think the second son was Henry born in 1821. I have Michael Ingle marrying Manda Hymes (Amanda) in Harrison Co. Indiana and he bought land their with his family when they migrated. Michael and Amanda had a daughter Julia Ann Ingle and she married Richard McDonald Sigler.(My gr-gr-grandparents). Please contact me.

from Administrator - PLEASE READ

Message Board Guidelines state that once you have typed your message, enter ALL OF THE SURNAMES mentioned in your post in the "Surnames" field. Please include ONLY SURNAMES THAT ARE MENTIONED IN YOUR POST- not all surnames you might be researching. If you wish, you can include surname spelling variations for the surnames mentioned in your message.
Note: All surnames should be separated by a comma and a space. Board administrators spend a lot of time correcting the surname field so that your posts can be included in future searches by other researchers looking for a particular surname, so your cooperation is much appreciated.
Thank you.

I'm not sure if you know about this but here is some history about Michael Ingle. It's from the Ohio Channel Website about Ohio Historical Markers. http://www.ohiochannel.org/your_state/remarkable_ohio/marker...

Side A : "Michael Ingle"
Michael Ingle, the first permanent white settler in Newberry Township, arrived in Miami County in 1804. A tanner from Virginia, Ingle cleared and cultivated eight hundred acres of land, where he grew wheat and other essential produce. He erected a double log cabin in what is now the town of Covington. Ingle was a Revolutionary War veteran and is buried on the land he cleared and farmed, which is known as the Old Township Section.

Address
7835 Ingle Road Highland Cemetery
Covington, OH 45318
Miami County

I am looking for information on relatives that have connections with the Ingle surname.

The areas strongly connected would be Easingwold, Harrogate areas, although any lead is obviously appreciated.

The Ingle family will probably have strong farming connections (as alot of people did round there).

Thank you in advance.
