Thank you for contacting me. The first link you sent was a response to a question I posed a while back. I've never been able to pinpoint exactly where my great-grandfather, Jernej Intihar, came from in Slovenia. I know his wife, Francizek Vicic, came from Lipsenj, which is right outside Cerknica. Jernej and Frances met in Cleveland a few years after immigrating to the US.
If you look at the Ellis Island record, Jernej's original destination was somewhere in California. I was originally skeptical that this was my Jernej, since Cleveland is quite a distance from California. However, Robert Jerin (the man who responded to my post) indicated that it was common for immigrants to stop their journey short, due to lack of money, illness, etc. The only information I have for Jernej is that her was born around 1880 to Martin Intihar and Mary (Hribar). If you can find his father or mother somewhere in your family tree, we probably do have a connection. I believe Jernej also had a brother named Jose that immigrated to Tennessee.
