Ed,

My name is Vince Castelli. My father was Vincent Castelli. My grandfather was Vincent Castelli . My ggrandfather was Ippolisto Castelli who married my ggrandmother Mariarosa Iovino, daughter of Antonio Iovino and Chiara Mellilo, Nicola Iovino and Chiara Cantelmo. They were from Atripalda, Avellino, Campania, IT. Before that, I can find no record of Iovino's in Atripalda. Antonio was born about 1802. I have no dates on his father but I have a copy of the Tax Census of 1755 and there are no Iovino's listed as residents.

Since Salerno and Avellino border each other, do you yhink it's possible the family emigrated to Atripalda sometine after 1755.

BTW: several of Mariarosa's brother's (Nicola) children immigrated to the US between 1904(Nicola & Vincenza)and 1905 (Antonio) and Sabino (unknown immigration date)who, in 1917, lived in NYC and in 1942 lived at 290 S 9th Street, Newark, NJ. He worked as a cabinet maker.

That's my Iovino history as far ack as it goes. I hope it helps your search.

I have a copy of the lineage from today to 1802 if you need it.

Vince Castelli
