Irby/Thompson Connection

Does anyone have knowledge or referrence to a marriage or connection between Irby and Thompson in the early 1800s? I am looking for (like needle in a haystack) a connection that will connect my great grandfather Samuel Erby (later also seen as Irby) Thompson to this connection. Erby was a name passed down to a son...and I am betting (by looking at other names as the children came along) that the names were for other family members of my great grandparents. They had 13 or more children (with about 11 that survived infancy) Samuel Erby (Irby) Thompson came from Tennessee (my guess is Wilson, County--as the names from there seem to fall in with the names of his children) mid 1800s. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
