Surnames: Irving, Carruthers, Stockbridgehall Farm, Quaas Loaming Farm
My great grandparents Robert Irving and Janet Carruthers were living at Stockbridgehall Farm in the 1841 census. Would they have been tenant farmers? In the 1851 census they were living at Quaas Loaming farm south of Lockerbie which they seemed to own. Does anyone know anything about these farms, I know the four lane highway goes over Quaas Loaming.
