I am a direct descendant if Dr. Abraham Conn Isaacs & Elizabeth Jane Hunnicutt, who lived in Lavaca Co, Texas. I have been compiling my ancestry since I was 10 years old. My Grandmother Isabella Finlay Isaacs got me interested in my ancestry. I have collected family info all these years (63) and have made a lot of connections thru FTM. Just recently, I am sure I found Elizabeth Jane's death certificate. About 15 years ago, I found out about Dr. AC's & her divorce. You can contact me at alicelhenry@yahoo.com.

I still live in southern Illinois where the Isaacs family settled in about 1828 in Thompsonville, Illinois. James R. Isaacs was the father of your William Allen Isaacs. My great grandfather--Minton Page Isaacs was a brother to your William Allen Isaacs who married Palmira Clayton.
I am hoping someone might be able to shed some light on my ggrandmother Magaret (Maggie) Jane Isaacs, born July 1879 in West Glamorgan, Wales. She immigrated to Lackawanna County, PA in 1880-1881. Her father is Reese Davies Isaacs. Her siblings include Claude and Edna. The family settled in Dallas Township. If anyone knows the name of her mother, or any other information, I would greatly appreciate it.

My post, that you replied to, was years old. I have found no evidence that Abraham Isaacs was truly a member of our family. He lived across the street from our family on Fieldgate St, Whitechapel, and I was hoping that he was related because I could not find much information on our family members.

I am also interested in this as I believe that it might (and I stress might, this is proving quite a difficult exercise) be Elizabeth Isaacs who was married Joseph Hart and had a son David Hart, then a daughter Lena Hart who was my maternal great grandmother. Again, any help in confirming or ruling out would be appreciated. She appears to be a sibling of your rels. Kind regards, Celia

I believe that the Elijah you are looking for is the uncle of the Elijah refered to in these posts. He is the eldest son of Richard Isaacs and Mary Ann Robbins. He was born, probably, in Wilkes County, North Carolina abt 1785. He and wife Sarah Sally Masagee moved their family from the Cove Creek area of Ashe County, North Carolina to Carroll County, Indiana some time after 1830 as Richard was born in North Carolina in 1830. They are present in the Washington, Carroll County, Indiana 1840 U.S. Census. Richard and Barbara Ryan's second son was indeed Jonathan born 1853.

I am looking for information on Nancy or Mary Isaacs who were part cherokee and members of Chief Bowls band who went from Tennessee to Arkansas to Texas by 1819. Nancy Isaaces was married to Leonard Williams and Mary Isaacs was married to Bill Williams. Mary left Bill and returned to the cherokees after the birth of a son in the early 1820s. Leonard and Bill were sons of Thomas Williams who traveled with Chief Bowls and was given a spanish land grant in what is now Rusk Co, Texas. He died at Williams Settlement in Rusk Co, Tx in 1835. Leonard and Bill were both Indian Scouts and agents. They served as interpreters.

Any help would be appreciated

Betty Vaughn

Benjamin, Henry, Lewiston, Katy Isaacs?

I'm researching my Isaacs family, starting with my grandfather, Benjamin H. Isaacs, born in New York abt. 1894 and later lived in both Santa Cruz, CA and San Diego, CA (in 1920 census as living in San Diego, age 26, with other household members Katy Isaacs (sister?), age 18, Lewiston L. Isaacs, age 38. Under "Relation to Head of House" Benjamin is listed as "Son.") His father was, I believe, a Henry Isaacs, was born in England and married to Katy (also b. in England). My grandfather attended U.C. Berkeley in 1922, and was married to my grandmother, Valma Bolster. They had 2 children: Milton Jeremiah Isaacs (my father), b. 1926 and Benjamin H. Isaacs (my uncle), b. 1924, both of whom later appear on the 1930 census as living in Glendale, Los Angeles, CA with household members: Benjaman (sic) H Isaacs, age 36, Valena (should be Valma) Isaacs, age 26, Benjaman H Isaacs, age 5, Milton J Isaacs, age 3 and Milton W Bolster (Valma's brother), age 21.
Have any of the male Isaacs in your family had YDNA testing done? I had my brother's done earlier this year. From it I know we descend through SAmuel Isaacs born 1700 in Virginia. I just have a huge hole then between SAmuel and my James R. Isaacs born 1799 in North Carolina. I beleieve that James lived in Maury Cty, Tennessee. I do know his older children were born in Tennessee.

I have researched the Isaacs in montogomery Cty Illinois and have found similar naming patterns. What other counties of Illinois were your Isaacs relatives found. The Isaacs in Kentucky are also connected based on the YDNA as well as the Isaacks in TExas who were Jewish.

Julia Isaacs Schroeder

PS you can email me at juliaschroeder@jalc.edu--
My mother descends through the Shelby's and Christy's who were in Pope Cty.
