Greetings - I've just started digging through my Isenberg family lines and there's a strong trace back to a Nicholas b)1765 d)1830. He was born in Frederick MD and married Elizabeth Hashbarger Fox.
The next generation parental connection Ancestry suggests is to Enoch, b) 1761 d) 1844. I doubt this is true as this would have required Enoch to be 4 years old to sire Nicholas.
Has anyone else puzzled through this particular connection? I appreciate any hints or tips.
(There is also some family lore about Nicholas being one of four brothers, with some hired gun Hessian connection to King George, which supposedly brought them to America to fight the colonists during the Revolution. This is an exciting story, but so far nothing substantiates that except for random name records which could be coincidental.)
