Greetings Isenberg-Winegar relatives!!!! Can anyone confirm where Susanna Winegar Isenberg died and where she is buried????? Can anyone confirm that George A Isenberg and George Emmett Isenberg are one in the same???? The online MO death certificates show a middle name of Emmett but the dates are correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated to help solve this confusion. C Gerdes br2294@hotmail.com

I have not worked on this line for a while so don't have details in my head but will take a look. My Isenbergs landed in KY. My ancestor was Lydia Jane Isenberg. There are still family in KY.

There is a myfamily.com site for this line.

MD & PA Isenbergs: Nicholas and Enoch connection

Greetings - I've just started digging through my Isenberg family lines and there's a strong trace back to a Nicholas b)1765 d)1830. He was born in Frederick MD and married Elizabeth Hashbarger Fox.

The next generation parental connection Ancestry suggests is to Enoch, b) 1761 d) 1844. I doubt this is true as this would have required Enoch to be 4 years old to sire Nicholas.

Has anyone else puzzled through this particular connection? I appreciate any hints or tips.

(There is also some family lore about Nicholas being one of four brothers, with some hired gun Hessian connection to King George, which supposedly brought them to America to fight the colonists during the Revolution. This is an exciting story, but so far nothing substantiates that except for random name records which could be coincidental.)

Will take your original post with me to the FHC as it has all those nice dates on it and look in the Augustdorf OPRs for his entry. There are 2 films permanently held there, they were ordered maybe 10y ago. All the records are handwritten in the order they were reported to the church, so finding a date isn't too hard. That's how Herman's parents were found, the birthdate in those translated documents for him was exactly the same as in the Augustdorf records. No further births were found to those parents which indicated he WAS the youngest in the family. You'll be the first to know.... MegG near Tulsa
---------------

We do not know who Carl's parent's were. I would make a guess that all the Isenberg's from Waldeck were related. Maybe brothers.. I guess if the church record's from Waldeck were available we would know for certain. The children's names are so alike.

I just posted to the ISENBERG Mailing List too. Was really surprised to get your reply, figured your email address had probably changed since '99. If we've corresponded before, I may have decided this was not the right family and abandoned the search. I may have simply forgotten it but don't want to think that happened ! Would like to see if we can link Carl born about 1825 and Herman born 1829, both Waldeck. There are 3 Waldecks in Germany according to map searches.

Do you know who Carl's parents were ? Lots of those family names were used for the children of Herman and Louisa in Tea, Missouri. In the Augustdorf Old Parish Records, there were both EISENBERGs and ISENBERGs.

John Henry ISENBERG 1856-1928
Married Elizabeth MANYHOUSE

Frederick Herman ISENBERG 1858-1933
Married Emma KOHL

Herman Henry ISENBERG 1861-1938
Married Anna BAUR [sister of Charles BAUR]

Anna Maria Henrietta ISENBERG 1863-1920
Married Charles BAUR [brother of Anna BAUR]

Edward Gustav ISENBERG 1866-1949
Married Emma WILFERTH

Henry Gottleib ISENBERG 1869-?
Married Cora LOCKHART

Wilhelmia Sophia ISENBERG 1871-1959
Married Samuel CANTLEY

You can contact me directly here... scotquester@bartnet.net
Meg Greenwood / near Tulsa, OK

This line looks very interesting. May be related to my Waldeck ancestor who arrived Nov 1854 into New Orleans...Herman ISENBERG born 1829 in Augustdorf to Johann ISENBERG and Anna Margareta Elizabeth POLLMAN. A translated family history notes Waldeck specifically. No siblings mentioned in the history notes, only that Herman was the youngest of the family.

To link to what is posted here, World Vital Records shows a Carl ISENBERG age 32 arrived into New Orleans Nov of 1857 with wife Henriette age 36 and what must be children named "Heinr" 25y, Friederich 18y, Carl 8y and another Friederich 2y. This is so similar to my family line, I would like to ask about Carl and others who may have come over. The family history suggested others had come over previously however it contained no names or cities. I hope you are able to receive this reply, its been over 10 years since it was posted.
Hello Johanna,

Welcome to the club of the confused. I have heard from my older brothers and sisters that my Grandfather's name was
Alexander Isenberg and although not sure, Mollie sounds like my Grandmother's name, at the moment I'm conducting an extensive research to bring this incognita to a close. By the way my father's name was Abraham Edward Isenberg and he was born in Russia in 1895. In the event that I find further information, I will share it with you.
In the mean time I wish you luck in the search of your lost ones.
Albert Isenberg

I have not done genalogy for quite a while. I was looking through old postings and saw your response. I do not know if you are aware that for some reason Frank R was raised with my grandfather supposedly after his father died. The two Frank R and my grandfather John William Isenburg were very close. They died within a few hours of each other in Nov 1956.

Do you have any information on Isabella Champion's family? She was married to Jacob Isenberg - parent's of Frank Wesley Isenberg. Any help would be appreciated.

Betty

My previous postings showed Betty461.

I have found the answer to your questions about Phillipus Jacobus Isenberg, son of Gabriel Isenberg. There's a pretty complete account of him that I found going through my Family Tree Maker software that will hunt for anybody online. But the name was misspelled - it was ICenberg. The material came from Ancestry's One World Tree. It says that he died in 1823 in Springfield, Clark Co., Ohio.
His marriage to Anna Maria Haspelhorn was on 5 Feb. 1788.
It did list another spouse also, but gave no date of marriage - Margarettia Hospeliiorn (Misspelled Hospelhorn?).
I'm thinking this is the sister of Anna Maria who probably married him when Anna Maria died.
Children's names (but it does not say which belong to which mother): Magdalena Isenbarger; Johannes Isenberg; Henry Isenbarger; Gabriel C. Icenbarger; Susanne Isenberg; Catharine Isenberg; Mary Isenberg; Jacob Isenberg; George Isenberg; John Iscenbarger.
I cannot tell you if this is correct or not. All I have is Phillipus' name, date and place of birth. Hope this helps!
Nancy M. Goodwin nmgoodwin@comcast.net

My great-grandmother was Mary Rosella Isenberg, daughter of George and Susana Isenberg. Both born in Tennessee. Moved to Iowa before 1873.As they are in the 1870 fed census in Iowa.they lived in Wapello Co. in Eddyville at that time By 1880 they were in Appanoose Co. Susana F.(Frances) was a Winegar and her parents were John D. and Sarah Winegar(Winger) Her name was spelled Susannah and her grandmother is listed as Susan in 1850. George and Susannah were married Oct 25th, 1856. This is probably more than you need to know. I hope it helps.
