I have a few questions about my gggg grandfather Coonrad Isenhour:
What year did he move to Missouri? Also, in what town(s) or county(s) in Missouri did he reside?
What dates did he and Eva Ottinger Isenhour die?
I understand that he was almost killed during the Civil War by pro-secessionists; does anyone have any elaboration on what happened?
Was there some reason why he felt compelled to leave East Tennessee?
I assume the part of Missouri he moved to was very pro-Union during the Civil War. Offhand, it seems strange to me that he would leave one area (East Tennessee) that had seen a lot of inter-community Civil War conflict, to go to another state (Missouri) that had been notably divided during the war and continued to see some strife afterwards. Was there a particular reason he picked Missouri, such as relatives already there, etc.
