Maria, my name is Marie Genevieve (Enriquez) Dominguez and my grandfather, Ramon Yslas (Islas) and Antonia Marquez were born in San Miguel Horcasitas in 1880. They came to the US in 1914 via Nogales, AZ. Grandfather Ramon's mother was Trinidad Urias. My grandmother's mother was Maria Jesus Valdez and great grandfather was Rafael Valdez. I'm also an Islas from Arizona. My Granfather Francisco Islas was born in Nogales, Sonora and my grandmother Isabel Islas was born in San Miguel de Horcasitas, Sonora. Both eventually moved to Tucson.

I do not know his fathers name but his mother was Victoria Quintanilla. Her sister is Eulalia Quintanilla Torres my grandmother. My father was Pragedis Torres. I know they lived in south Texas. Any information would be great,

Hello, I am also from an Islas/Acosta family. I would love to find out more info on the history/ancestory? of the family... My grandfather is from Chihuahua,Mexico as well as my grandmother... Their names are Beredino, (not sure how to spell it) y Celia Islas. Maybe we all can help each other... Thanks for your time.

I am trying to locate a Guadalupe Yslas who married a Robert Merritt in Arizona... on 11-13-1911......Robert died in Phx, Arizona, but unable to locate Guadalupe's info. I do know that Robert Merritt was born 1-31-1884 in Arizona, so I assume they may have been close in age.

found Maximo Yslas,age 23-Louisa Lopez age 19 were married.........8-25-1911............in arizona website found the following..Maximo Yslas-2-10-1888-7-10-1960, & Louisa Lopez age 40 died 4-17-1934........& yes many times is shown as Islas....found this couple had a daughter named Juanita...........recently there was an Obit for Haskell L.Hixon in tucson wife named Diane.......noted a brother named Dian Yslas.......I assume that the Lopez-Yslas are connected. I also have other info on Yslas & Islas.........cora.

Hola!

My wife is Cristina Islas-Cano Riley and we are looking for any and all information on her side of the family.

Her father and mother supposedly were from Hidalgo, Mexico but moved to Mexico City, D.F. before she was born. Her father, Edmundo Islas-Fernandez was born 11/20/1943 and died on 1/10/2003 in Mexico City. Her mother, Petra Cano-Acosta Islaswas born about 4/27/1934 or 40, they were married about 9/7/1961, and she died around July or 1971-ish when my wife was a little girl.

Other than that, we virtually know NOTHING about my wife's side of the family and since my own father's death, I am trying to put together as much information about both sides of the family for my children.

Please (por favor), if there are any relatives out there, anyone who knows anything...please help us make a more complete family history for our family? I think this is so important and yet we have so very little to go on.

Some of the persons that were MARRIED in Nogales are;

Celia Yslas - Spouses (2) Fernando Montano Soto & Santiago Romero Date of marriage (DOM) is shown as Aug. 3, 1946 but it does not show to which spouse.

Consuelo Yslas Vildosola - Spouse Juan Pico Gamez 12.26.1946

Our Yslas clan originated in San Miguel de Horcasitas, Sonora, MX. I checked my genealogy material, from 1998, and I don't see anyone born in Nogales, HOWEVER, there are a few that were married in Nogales. Jim

Your posting is the first that I have seen with the spelling of Yslas with a "Y " instead of the usual "I" . My father was born in Nogales. Do you have any other relatives who are "Yslas" from that area?

Do you have any other information about your family? Where are you parents or grandparents from? Do you have any relation in Texas? My dad has three sisters and one brother, their names are Hilda, Lola and Frank. I don't know my other aunts name. My grandfather's name was Julian and he married my grandmother Consuelo. I don't know her maiden name.

my uncles grandfather is named Hermilo Islas Montano. I think he died about 23 years ago.
