1. GIDEON1 ISON, SIR was born Bet. 1635 - 1650 in Shropshire, England, and died December 24, 1701 in Ireland.
Notes for GIDEON ISON, SIR:
About 1700, as a reward for Gideon's faithfulness and loyalty in the fight for his crown, King William III of England, bestowed knighthood upon him. When Gideon's son John wanted to marry a commoner, GIDEON forbid it. In spite of this, John's love for this coumely lass led him to rebel against his father's wishes and he amrried her anyway. They soon ran away to America.
This particular line of Isons in America began with John and Martha Elizabeth Huff. In spite of Gideon's displeasure with them they named their first born child after GIDEON.

2. Gideon reportedly disapproved of John's marriage to Martha Huff.
