Hi,

My name is Teresa Vest. I am also decended from Nelson Ivy, but my Nelson married Catherine Wells in 1846 in Virginia; in the 1860's he either left or was killed we do not know for sure and heard different stories, Catherine remarried. I have looke for years and cannot find out where or whe he died. He would have been born around 1810 or just thereafter. I know he could have gone to Mississippi, but I am not sure. We think he was also of either Native American, South American, or Portguese. Does that sound like your Nelson?
