I have found where Mark W Izard and Mary L Smith married in Caldwell Co. TX in 1871. I have his birth date ( off headstone)as 4-6-1836 and dod as 1-15-1891 buried in Fentress, in the Happle Cem.
He was a confederate soldier. A postmaster in Kingsbury, Guadalupe Co. TX.
I have been very UNsuccessful finding him in any census and connecting him to parents and siblings..
Could he be a son of John G and Rhoda Izard??

I have hit a brick wall and would appreciate any info.
