I would like to get a copy of your research. I have had a copy of the Izats of Methwyn castle for well over 30 years.

I will be happy to exchange any genealogy or the information I have rounded up on Methven Castle.

Izatt family tree

I was most interested in the programmes on Channel 4 about the Tower of London.

My grandmother was Anabella Izat born 1853. From my copy from the Australian Geneoligist about the Izats of Methvyn Castle. I have the family tree from Henry De Izat born 1241 - to John Izat of Balilisk now residing in Berwick, Scotland.

I see that Herbert de Izat 1st Knight was beheaded in 1377, also Sir Walter 2nd Knight beheaded in 1645.

I would like to know where Methvyn Castle was. The only reference I have of Methvyn Castle is where Margaret, daughter of Henry VII died 1541.

I have always been very interested in my family tree and would welcome any information you could share with me.

Regards

Doris Leitch
Argyll
Scotland

I think you're trying to search my husband's genealogy. They have a family organization: David Evan Stephens Family Organization, whose president is Florence Carlson, 1661 W. Loveley Road, Taylorsville, UT 84123. I'm not certain if she has Internet access or e-mail. The registered agent for the Family Organization is Dr. Andrew L. Gardner, 555 E. 2950 N., Provo, UT 84604. Perhaps one of these two can help you. [I'd be glad to share anything I had with you, but my records were burned in a house fire several years ago and I haven't recreated them.] Best wishes!
Hi Ted,

Unfortunately these names are not in my database either...but for some reason the name James Sharpe Izatt seems familiar to me...

Your postings on this message board are automatically gateway'd to the IZATT-L mailing list. Perhaps someone on the list will recognize your Izatt details...

You can look at my Izatt family on my web site at:
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~bgilson/

Best wishes in your continuing search :)

Hello -- I don't have a James Izatt with wife Ellen in my database, but we are likely distant cousins as my Izatt family is also from Dunfermline. My gggrandfather John Somerville Izatt came to the US from Dunfermline in 1853.

Do you know who were the parents of your James Izatt?

Just found your information re William Izatt in Mississauga, Canada. William was my father, one of 8 children of James and Ellen Izatt, who immigrated about 1912/13 to Canada from Townhill, Dumfermline, Scotland. We have researched quite a bit of our family ancestry, back to about 1800.

If there is any information I can provide to you please let me know.

Here is an update of what information I have. My grandfathers full name was James Sharpe Izatt, born June 10, 1879, married to Helen Scugal Smith. James Izatt's parents were John Izatt, born 1835 in Dunfermline and Christina Burt. They had 11 children. John Izatt's parents were John Izatt, born 1800 and Frances Morrison. John and Frances had 7 children. All of these relations appear to have come from Dunfermline.

Do any of these names show up in your data base.

In your group would there be an Alma Iset (sp?)? I believe she would have Swedish relatives named Llindholm, Gustafson or maybe Brown (not named used in Sweden).
