Hi!
I'm 31 and I live in Paris (France). My dad's father was Chaim Gelperowic (borned in Vilnius Lithuania in 1895 or 1896). He married Pesa Jablon in 1913 and they had 2 kids. But then, he came to France (alone) around 1917 and he met my grand mother!!!!! Don't asked me what happened with his first family in Vilnius? I don't know! But my dad and I will be going on a trip at the end of the week for Vilnius! I found you on the net because I'm looking for any informations, or related names to my family before going there. Glad to see that I'm not the only one in the "family" interested by my ancestors history! I hope will keep in touch soon?

Annie,

See this link. Maybe this is Pesa Jablon's brother or cousin. It sounds like this young man is from the same generation. I'd love to hear any information you find out about the Jablon's in Vilnius. I don't know how common the surname is so they might be related. If you do find out anything, please post it on the Jablon message board so everyone researching the name can see it. Have a great trip!

http://data.jewishgen.org/wconnect/wc.dll?jg~jgsearch~model~...

Jablon from Lithuania

Any JABLON's out there from Lithuania? My great-grandmother is Dobrusza JABLON. She married Jeruchim BERGZON in 1895 in Lozdzieje, Lithuania. They had 4 children, all born in Lozdzieje. Jeruchim came to the US sometime before 1911. Oldest son Leizer joined him in 1911. Sometime after that Jeruchim went back to Lithuania. Between his return and 1921 when he arrived back in the US, the other 3 children were born. Their daughter Peshe/Pesca/Bessie is my granmother. The rest of the family came to the US in 1929 and settled in Brooklyn.

Dobrusza's father is Kopel who was already deceased by the time she married in 1895. Her mother is Zlata (no surname listed on the marrige record).

I just found a listing on the jewishgen database "Photographs of Conscripts to the Russian Army Database 1900-1914" from Vilna Gubernia for a Kopel JABLON. The year is 1908 and his father is listed as Eljash. Maybe Eljash is Dobrusza's older brother and this young Kopel is named for his deceased grandfather? I don't know enough about this branch of the family yet to know if any lived in Vilna Gubernia.

I look forward to hearing from anyone with JABLON ancestors.
