Re: "Mother: Maria Gtuch...the "t" looks like a "l" with a line through it."

That "t" is probably the Polish letter "ł." In cursive, it can easily be mistaken for a lower case T crossed near the top instead of in the regular place. :-)

-MJ

His name: IGNATIUS
Father: Ignatius Dziubek
Mother: Maria Gtuch...the "t" looks like a "l" with a line through it.
Born March 4th or 8th 1892
He had no brothers or sisters. We understand his mother died and his father remarried and he had a stepsister.
He immigrated in 1909 when he was 19.

Is there any chance you ahve found more info on this family or anything on the area?
Thank you.

Jablonsky / Libbert

    Greeting Customers,
My name is Paul Libert, I live in Russia. I'm looking for my ancestors with the surname von Jablonsky. The data I managed to collect to now day is not too extensive, I know my great - grandmother's name was Elisabeth Charlotta Libbert, inborn von Jablonsky, her years of life 1885 - 1936, she was born somewhere in Eastern Prussia, most likely in the county of Osterode, modern Ostroda in Poland. One researcher from Germany indicates this place as Rauschken - where the Jablonski's estate was situated at, a village with a church as it marked on the old map of the German Reich.
Also I know - she lived with her husband, who's name was Heinrich Wilhelm Leonhard Libbert, in the beginning of the 20 century in the city of Riga, Latvia, later they removed to St. Petersburg, Russia, where she died in 1936.
They had six kids - three sons and three daughters. The sons' names were Arthur, Edgar and Alfred, Edgar is my native, direct grandfather. The daughters' names were Alma, Elsa and Valentine, all of them, I suppose, died and buried in Russia or Latvia.
Elisabeth Charlotta father's name may be Alexander von Jablonsky, also she should have had a sister Alexandra married a man with the surname Braun (so it was in Riga in 1901, at least).
If this data in some points coincides with what your researched - let me know, please, may be we'll join our forces to learn more about our relatives.
From Russia, with the best wishes of success, sincerely,

P. Libert.

Heinrich Robert Carl Jablonsky

Heinrich Robert Carl Jablonsky born approx 1877 in Klein Schlafken , East Prussia was a goldminer in South Africa. On the 22/08/1914 he was taken prisoner by the British and put into a concentration camp at Roberts' Heights. This left his wife and children destitute in fact his wife begged to be put into the camp with her husband. A letter dated June 1919 states that he was still in the camp and that his wife Frederika Louisa Jablonsky (nee Kallweit) along with their children Waldemear Robert Jablonsky (19) Helena (14) Euphemia (13) and Irene (8) would be repatriated to Germany on the understanding that they were never to return to South Africa. I know what happened to Waldemear Robert Jablonsky as he was my husbands grandfather but we do not know what happened to the rest of the family apart from Heinrich Robert Carl Jablonsky. He died alone in Springkell Sanatorium, Germiston, South Africa on 27th Feb 1938 of Phthisis, a disease he had while in the concentration camp. On his death certificate it says that," There are said to be children in Germany, last known address Stadtwiese 171 Essen, Ruhr, Germany-Names Unknown" How sad is that. If anyone knows what happened to the girls I'd be very happy to hear from them.

Elaine::I have been doing alot of searching for the last name of Jablonsky, I have had alot of help. But, I still have to keep looking. My Grandfather was Pawel Jablonski/Jablonsky, in Poland he wrote his name with a line thru the l, he was born
1881, I cannot seem to get his birth certificate but if you studied Poland you find that it was wiped off the map and became Austria and Austro-Hungary. He came from a poor mining town in Galicia, Lancut, Austria-Poland. from what I understand he had brothers I am not sure of their names.
Pawels father was, Andrew Jablonski/y and his mother was
Louise Rochman. With help I have found much. If any of these
names or places sound familiar , let me know. If I can help
please let me know.

Thank you,
Kathleen Jablonski Parr

Elaine,
You mentioned that your father is a Jablonski and that he had relatives in Michigan. I am looking for information on my great grandmother Margaret Jablonski Lassin. She was born in 1897 in Michigan. There is not other records on the lady except her burial plot and we found her on the 1930 Census with her family and a brother Edward. The census says he is 50 at that time. Do you or any of your relatives recognize these names. We know that the Census says there parents were from Poland.
Any help would be appreciete.

I have been doing some research on my family and found that There was a Jozef Jablonsky traveling with my great-grandmother, Julianna Jablonsky. It apears they might have been traveling together (possibly related) both from Cpondy (poland).

They arrived in NY April 25, 1905 on the Statendam. It states that He was 28 and married and she was 17 and single. We know nothing of who Jozef might be and how he might be related but they were listed next to each other in the ship manifests. It would be great to find out if there are any other Jablonskys that are related to us as we are the last of them. Maybe there is some connection. I have the online passenger record but have had no luck finding any further info.

Hi all of u, who try to search something about jablonsky family.I would like to know whether some of my ancestors or their relatives are alive or care about their history. I´d by glad to have some contact with those who are still here. All I know about my family is that they moved from slovakia to usa, I think it was detroit and new york. Their names were Andrew and Stephan. And I recall, that one their sons (maybe ) was a hockey player.
Please, if u know something that would help me find at least someone from my wide family, respond and we may find out that we are close family...
Thanks....

What are the names of your parents? We might be cousins. My grandfather is John Jablonsky, now known as John Appleton. He had several younger brothers, Tony (Anthony), Les, Steve, Joey (Joseph). (I might have missed one.)

John married Ruth Ahlgren, had one daughter Charlotte, who married Rob Godfrey and had two daughters, Catherine & myself!

Was Mary's maiden name Krc? I've been stumped trying to find information on Carl & Mary. I'm still waiting for my grandfather to answer some of my questions about his parents. Hopefully that will move my search back another generation!

I look forward to hearing from you!

My grandmother's name was Emily and we've seen various spellings of her last name -- Jablonsky and Jablonska among them. She was Czech, born in Poland, emigrated to Chicago. We don't have the years. She married my grandfather, Frank Smith (also Francis Smrz) in Chicago in 1917. They had four children. Emily died in 1926 when she was about 42 years old. Does this fit any of your genealogical info??

My grandfather changed his surname to David (Tevye) Lonoff when he came to NYC from Shmeela, a shtetl in Russia-Poland (now in the Ukraine) around 1915. He was a printer; his family managed a forest reserve. Any suggestions for locating relatives or folks who came from there?

Hi Jozef,

There are Yablonovsky's in my family too and I am corresponding with someone else with that name in her family. To your knowledge, are Jablonsky/Yablonsky interchageable with Jablonovsky/Yablonovsky?

I have found a town in the Ukraine which is close to my grandmother's birthplace that is named Jablonuvycja/Yablonovitsa. They are two different spellings of the same name. It may well be the original of the name Yablonovsky, which means a person from Yablono....

Is your family Jewish like mine? If it is, you might find some help on www.jewishgen.org.

Tamara Farache

Emilia (Milka) Jablonsky, my grandmother, came to Chicago about 1913. (Her father's name was probably Joseph of Spis, Czechoslovakia. Emilia married Francis Smith (Smrz) in 1917, bore 4 children to him, and died of pneumonia in Chicago on March 22, 1926. About 1956, our family received a letter from Emilia's sister, Gizela Moniak, who lived in Drava (sp?), Poland in which she requested that we give them permission to take the four "morgi" of forest that had been Emilia's. In the letter, Gizela mentions additional family members living there -- a Jozefina, Vendelin, Tivadar, Gien and Jozef. (Gien and Jozef had moved to Brazil.) There was also a Cecilia Jablonsky. Does any of this information strike a chord with you??? Please be in touch. noshcat@sbcglobal.net

I am researching great-great-grandparents Werona Jablonsky (b.? d.?) married to Janos/John Dziubek b.? d. 1939.
The information I do have is that they were from Jablonka area. My great-grandmother married Ignatz Guziak and they came to Amer in 1896.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
