Hi, My name is Lorena and I am in the states :-) I know where Mary Ann Jacka went, but my mystery is finding the father of her child Eliza Thomas Jacka. I can't as yet find a birth record for her. One gal who posted on the familysearch.org site lists the name of James Jacka as her father but that was apparently a custom to put the child's grandfather's name on the birth certificate if the father was not in the picture. We heard rumors that the name Thomas (her middle name) may have been the father's name...but I don't know if it is a surname or birth name. So, the mystery records would be relative to the birth of Eliza Thomas Jacka in Cornwall and whether there was a marriage or not. Eliza's mother (Mary Ann) married later and had two sons with William James Dobb. Eliza then married John Dobb, one of William's sons from his first marriage. The whole group emigrated to Canada and Butte, MT. Eliza was born in 1860 (14 Jan) in Gwennap and her mom Mary Ann in 1841 Breage.
