of Howard, passed away Sunday,
March 16, 2008 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center,
State College.
A daughter of J. Eldon Matlock and Mabel Creighton, she was born Nov. 12, 1935 in Altoona.
She married Richard L. Jackman on June 14, 1958 in Mill Hall. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1995.
Ruth was a substitute teacher for Bald Eagle Area School District.
She was a member of Howard United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Red Hat Ladies Society and Howard Civic Club. She enjoyed reading and her cats and was very active in her church.
She is survived by a son, Richard C. Jackman of Denver, Colo.;
three sisters, Patricia Herb of Harrisburg,
Mary Lou Byerly of Choconut
and Gloria Battaglini of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.;
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Matlock,
and a sister, Barbara Wilkinson.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 21, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Main Street United Methodist Church, Main and Grove streets, Howard,
with the Rev. Ruth Donohue officiating.
Burial will be in Schencks Cemetery, Howard Township. Visitation will be Thursday, March 20, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home & Cremation
Services Inc., 135 W. Main St., Howard.
