HI, This is a long time between posts. I have just started up my search again with a family tree. I think your grandparents were Michael and Marion. I remember them, my grandmother was Michael's sister, Frances. The last time I saw them was at Aunt Amelia's home in Windsor, Ct. , we had taken my grandmother there for a visit. Your granfather had beautiful white hair and Aunt Marion was tall and very pretty. We lived in NYC, my maiden name was Kuroski.

I am looking for information on Frank Jackowski (my grandfather). My mother knowns very little about his family. He was born in 1917/1918, lived in upstate NY (Booneville, forestport, old forge). His army record states he was born in CT. His fathers name is Stanislaus Jackowski. Not sure who is mother is (Helen or Margaret) and he had a cousin Eleanor Jacobowski. Any additional information would be appriciated.

Hello, this is Tom. During last year I managed to find all my family in USA! I found children and grand children of three Jackowski brothers (Frank, Leon and John).
Frank (1886-1957) lived in East Chicago, IN and had 3 children: Sigmund, Henry and Lillian.
Leon (1889-1972) lived in Whippany, NJ and had 4 children:
Wanda, Alfreda, Theodore and Irene
John (1890-1953) lived in Passaic, NJ and had 2 sons: Edward and Arthur.
I have a contact with all those families and we are very happy that we find each other! I'm really very happy that I was able to find this part of my family.
Good luck for all. Tom.
What area of Poland are your Jackowski family from? I have Jackowski in my ancestry. They are from Parafii Dobrzykow and Parafii Suserz near Gostynin. Jozefa Jackowska was born about 1827. Her father was Teodor Jackowski, her mother was Marianna Rosiecka. Klara Jackowska was born about 1801 in Szczawin Koscielny. Her parents were Bartlomiej Jackowski and Petronella Kwiatkowska.

Thank you.

I'm writing from Poland and I look for some informations about three brothers of my grandfather who emigrated to the USA betwen 1900-1910. It was Franciszek (Frank) Jackowski born in 1886, Leon (Leo) Jackowski born in 1889 and Jan (John) Jackowski born 1890. They probably lived in Ilinois or Indiana state. As what I know Franciszek had 3 children: daughter Leokadia (Lodzia), sons Zygmunt and Henryk.
Leon had son Edward and Jan had daughter Wanda.
If someone has any info about those families please write to me (tiento@op.pl)

Having thought about it a little, my father had a cousin, Zofia (Zosia) who lived in Suchedniow 20 years ago. Suchedniow is only a few minutes' drive north of Kielce. Zosia married a Gierello. My father died 13 years ago so I can't ask him for details, and any addresses and contacts he had have disappeared (I don't have time to maintain links with such a vast family, it takes me all my time to maintain links with my immediate family - I saw my sister for the first time in a week this morning, and she lives next door!!!). I'm wondering if Krzysztof and Zosia closely related? I do know my father went visiting family in that area in the 1970's and 80's, but didn't pass on the results of his visits, other than claiming to have had a great time!

The account says he was born in Kielce in 1936. I have no idea how this fits in with Stanislaw J., who I thought was Warsaw-born, but perhaps he only lived and worked there! Certainly he has a statue in a prominent place (much-publicized at the time, probably 30 or more years ago).

Other painting Jackowskis include my uncle Andrzej who is Professor of Fine Art at Brighton University.

I know for a fact that one of Poland's leading artists of the last generation was Stanislaw Jackowski. I also know that he had a son, who is at least in his 50's now. I can't recall the son's name, so I'd rather not confirm your request. The "current generation" Jackowski is fairly famous in Poland, from what I know (must be, if I've heard of him! ;-) ).
No, I'm one of the "other" Jackowski's (explanation is too long-winded to go into, my roots go to Nottingham, then Radom (Poland), Lezajsk (S.E. Poland), Lancut (same), Poznan (where the family caused a lot of trouble for the occupying Prussians in 1805 and had to run! There are MILLIONS of Jackowskis in the area around Poznan and Szczecin, though the actual family roots are 800 years ago near Siedlce, Eastern Poland.). Hope this helps!!

Jackowskis in Baltimore

I am looking for information on the Jackowski family with father Joehn or Jochn Jackowski and mother Katarzyna BUDZINSKA. Katarzyna lived in Baltimore for a time with son-in-law Adam TRAWINSKI (1920 census), she was a widow at this time and may have returned to Poland. Her one son, Teofil Jackowski, was born in Plonsk in 1894 and died in Detroit in 1963. I do not know very much about this family and its connections.
There is also family (can't figure out quite where they fit in, but I can find out) in Scotland, in a fishing town called Peterhead. They don't speak Polish, which made their visit to Szczepankowo quite stressful. Repeat, will check and get back to you.

Went there last summer, will probably go there this summer: Kupsiki Stare is still there, your grandfather's sister (I guess she must have been a younger sister) died a couple of years back aged 90. She married a Gaszewski (pronounced Gonshevski), who had (at least) a son and a daughter. The son is running a tiny farm in Kupiski, the daughter is the mother of my wife's sister's husband (I specialise in confusing the unwary! Seems to be a family thing!) and lives in a village called Szczepankowo which is about 4 miles south of the main road running between Lomza and Ostroleka. You might find it by using Expedia (Web Search, Map). I know for a fact that none of the family speak English, so unless you can handle Polish with a dialect, contact might be difficult. I'll send them your details (those you've left on the Net), but I doubt they'll be into writing; they have too much work to do just to make a living.(You can't know what that means unless you've seen it for yourself!).

Wychudzki/Jackowski family

I am looking for more information on the following family. I would like to find out the descendents of the following marriage: Franciszek JACKOWSKI and Helena WYCHUDZKI. They were married in 1894 in Baboszewo, Poland. They had one daughter that I know of named Karolina who was born 5-4-1895 in Sokolniki, Poland. Helena's parents were Andrzej WYCHUDZKI and Rozalia BIERNACKA. My family connection is through Franciszek's dad...Jan JACKOWSKI...his second marriage produced my great-grandpa Teofil JACKOWSKI.

My great, great grandfather had a brother called Anthony Jaszewski. I do not know much about either of them, but I do recall my parents saying they (both of them?) tutored the famous Radziwill clan. My grandfather's brother Adolf Jaszewski was in the Austrian cavalry. You can see a picture of him and his Italian friend (as well as more information) at the link below. Who knows, we may be related.

http://www.geocities.com/jaszewska/Genealogy/Family/MyGeneal...

My great-grandfather's name was J.F. Jackowski. He had a wine/liquor/party hall at 730 West 18th Street in Chicago before selling it and moving his family to North Judson, IN. His daughter, Mary, married my grandfather, Stanley Bloniarz, in Chicago around 1910. They moved up to East Troy, WI after my father, Kaszmer, was born in 1911. Mary died in childbirth in 1914, in WI. If anyone knows more about Mary's family I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. Mari Ann
