William J. Jacobs (abt 1812 - abt 1908) in PA
Looking for a Jacobs expert in PA to help...
My brick wall is my great-grandfather William J. Jacobs, who was born somewhere in PA and died in Schuylkill Co., PA. I cannot find his father. William is first found in the 1850 Census in Schuylkill Co. He is not found in 1840 in the county (only Robert Jacobs is and he's not old enough to be William's dad, but might be a brother.)
I'd think he was off the Jacobs line from Perikomen but the census indicates otherwise...
Father: born in France (Alsace?) (per 1900 Census)
Mother: born in Wales (per 1900 Census)
Born: Jul 1812 in PA (per 1900 Census)
Alt: Birth: 1820 (per 1850 & 1860 Census)
Died: circa 1908 in Shenandoah, PA
Wife: Mary Houd / aka Hood
Children: Mary Ann, Sarah Jane, Henrietta, Emma, and William J.
