Hello.
I found the Jacobus family board on rootsweb while doing a web search, and was wondering if anyone monitoring this family thread can help me.
I have a countermarked coin in my collection that is stamped "J & C Jacobus / WARRANTED / CAST STEEL / STEEL / 1234". It is an old large cent, and was probably stamped somewhere between 1840 and 1875. See the attached image. I am trying to determine the location and date that this company was in business. I was wondering if any of the Jacobus family researchers had ever come across this company name before.
