My Great-Grandfather, Sydney was born In WI, shortly after the year you Grandfather arrived!! I wonder if there's any relation. I will try to find his Father's name.
Either way for two Jacquot's to be in WI at that time, is worth looking into.

I also know that on this side- someone did serve in the Civil war, possibly a general!!
