My father's mother's name was Jagendorf/Yagendorf/Yhegendorf -- I list all three because I've found the family listed first as Jagendorf in the 1910 Census, then in 1920 as Yhegendorf and I knew the name as Yagendorf. Her father's name was either Herman or Hyman, her mother's was Sarah. They lived in Brooklyn, NY and the census lists them as having come from "padulia" which was crossed out and replaced with Russia. I've later found on an old map that there was a "Podolia" in Russia and assume that's what was originally meant. At this point I have no further information. My grandmother, Rebecca married John Stein.
