Hello. I believe you're looking for Jagger of Shelf. If this is Shelf near Bradford & Halifax, then you may be related to Joseph Hobson Jagger who was the man who broke the Bank at Monte Carlo in 1875. He was working at a mill in Shelf in 1875. He was born 2 Sept 1830 and died 25 April 1892 and was Buried at Shelf. The only info I have is that he had a sister who married into my very distant family called Sowood, he may have had other sisters. He won 2 million french francs but wasn't really a gambler. He realised that there was a defective wheel and calculated accordingly. He left the casino as soon as he realised that the wheel had been changed.
