I've run across other references to Jaggers and the Mayflower but have seen no documentation. The first Jaggers in New England were Jeremiah and John, and no documented record exists for their arrival. Early records show Jeremiah in Mass, then Conn, about 1634ish.

I would love to know how they are connected to the Mayflower.

I am not a Jagger, but my grandfather, George Lewis (or Louis) Haas (born near Columbus Grove, Ohio in March 1875) said Dean Jagger was a first cousin. He had never met Jagger, but he claimed to know "over 100" of his first cousins! I do not know on which side of his family the Jaggers were, but a clue would be the name Haas, as well as his mother's maiden name Altstaetter. She was one of a dozen children of Jacob Altstaetter, who came to the US around 1832 and had at least 12 children who survived, which explains his many first cousins.

Looking for any information on the Jagger family. Husband's maternal grandmother was Lily Jagger. Birth year, maybe 1894 or 95. She married William Parker on December 8, 1921. Her father's name was Squire Jagger. She and William retired and lived on Haigh Moor View in Leeds.

Thank you.

Cliff sent me gifts and called me until about 1990. I missed him a lot as he was (other grandmom and grandpa Sam) that I was close to. I'm sorry or you loss.

I may be able to eliminate one Sophia Jagger from your list of possibles: mine was the daughter of Squire in Northowram, just next to Shelf. She was baptised 13 Sep 1830. She was a servant to Thomas Moore in 1851 and in 1857 married Samuel Thwaite.

Bear in mind that at the time, many people would have used "daughter-in-law" where we would use "step-daughter": so yours might have been born to Elizabeth when the latter was married to a Jagger who died, allowing her to marry William Robinson.

Maggie
