Re: Jagow Family/Niagara Co. New York
Herb, I know it has been a couple of years since your posting, but working on our Yagow (Jagow) family tree has led us to the Niagara County of New York and I wanted to see if you had found any more information about your ancestors in that area.
It is always dangerous to assume, but there may be a relationship between your family and ours, which goes back to a Samuel Friedrich Jagow who came over from Germany in 1846 and settled in Bergholz and Walmore, New York. In Eugene Camann's second book about Prussian transplants in that area of New York, he lists two other Jagow men around Samuel's age who came over at the same time, I presume brothers or maybe cousins. Maybe you descended from one of them. The were Michael Christian Jagow II and Christian Friedrich Jagow, both born in Prussia around 1805-1815.
Just wanted to see if you think there could be a connection.
