Diane,
I have been doing research on my family from Snakov, Bardejov district (formerly Saros district), Slovakia. I have found some Hrabcsaks in the records. But what I have found most interesting is that the next town is called "Hrabske." I suspect that some of the last names in the parish registry are more an indication that the person came from that town.
I see that L'utina is also in the Bardejov district. The Latter Day Saints Family History has records for this town on microfilms, Numbers: 1792654 and 1792655.
The records for Hrabske are on # 1792100.
The records for Hanigovce are on # 1792654 and 1792655.
I could find no LDS entry for Milpos.
I do have records from Snakov showing Anna Hrabcsak married to Basil Prokopovits.
Also, Janos Hrabcsak and Anna Kolczun were parents of Janos Hrabcsak born 9/25/1850. He married Anna Kovalycsik 11/22/1875. Their children were Anna (born 2/10/1880) and Janor (born about 1882). Anna married Andrew Spisak.
There is also a Janos Hrabcsak who married Susanna Prokopowicz. Their children Martha (1/22/1890) and Mihaly(3/17/1894) were born in Snakov.
Per Ellis Island records, Maria Hrabcsak, born 1877, came from Snakov.
from Ellis Island Records:
"Maria Hrabcsak
Ethnicity: Hungary, Slovak
Place of Residence: Sznako, Hungary
Date of Arrival: February 4, 1898
Age on Arrival: 21y
Gender: F
Marital Status: S
Ship of Travel: Havel
Port of Departure: Bremen "
From Original Ship Manifest:
"sex: female, age 21, single, able to read: no, able to write: no, occupation: none, Nationality: Hungarian; Last Residence: Sznako; Seaport for Landing in US: NY; Final Destination: Pittsburgh, PA; Having a ticket to final destination: Yes; By whom was ticket paid: Self; Whether in possession of $50 if not how much: $12, Ever in the US before: no, Whether going to join relative or friend, if so, name and complete address: Pittsburgh, PA
Also Peter Hrabcsak was born 1/26/1851 to Peter Hrabcsak and Maria Sandala in Snakov.
I don't know whether this will help or not.
