Hello, Bob & Tina---Your Antoni is a brother to my daughters` great-grandfather, Francisi/Frank Jacobik, from the dates you have for Antoni.
My former father-in-law, Richard, would be a nephew to your grandfather, Antoni. He is still living, but in a convalescent home. Richard has told me there was a brother to his father still in Buffalo. He mentioned a cousin Stanley (?), have to check my notes--it`s been a while since I`ve tried on this family.
You have given me where they were from in Poland!
I would love to add to this family for my daughters family tree, & for my grandchildren.
I do have quite a bit information on descendants of Frank/Francis & Sophia (Knapik) Jacobik. They had 12 children; only two are still living; Richard, age 84; & his slightly older sister, May, out in California.
Please e-mail me---thank you for responding to my query!
Roz
Chris, I am interested in comparing notes on this line. Sometimes families changed the spelling of their names to become "more American", somtimes they changed the spelling to make it easier to spell, that is what some of my family did. Anyway, I am NOT a Jacobik, but am helping a friend find his roots--HE is Anthony Jacobik, son of Anthony and Estelle Jacobik. Any info you can offer will be appreciated. My email is applefarmkids@msn.com. Hope to hear from you soon.

Do you know if anyone has ever done a family tree? My e-mail is alababe36@yahoo.com or my address is 136 Kay Street, Pell City, Alabama 35128. One time my Daddy told me all his brother and sisters' names and date of birth and I wrote them down and now can't find that paper. Bill's dad is Richard, the brother that lives in Florida? I think I might have met them once when I was younger. Any info would greatly be appreciated!
Thank You! Toni Marie Jacobik Anlage

Genni, I saw your message regarding trying to locate Anthony Jacobik, b 06/04/1913 and d 01/06/1993. He was my father. He moved to Alabama in the 60's and married and had two children me and my brother, Greg. He was also married to Estelle Kortopski and had one son named Anthony Jacobik, Jr. Has anyone ever completed a family tree? The only family on the Jacobik side that I ever met was Sophie and Frank who lived in Connecticutt. Sophie was his sister and I wrote to Vicki, one of his other sisters in the 90's. I would really like to know more about the Jacobik family. Thank You!

You can email me with any further questions, I usually don't check the ancestry page, just looking up some history and Ellis Island ship manifests. Michelle

JACOBACH from Russia/Poland

My grandfather, Kondrady Nowik (as listed on ship log), was married in 1912, and lists Katarina Jacobach as his mother.

My grandfather was from Parfenoviche (130 wsw of Minsk), I can find nothing on this town, or if it exists today - so any help in that arena would be appreciated.

My cousins tell me the name is extremely familiar and that we have cousins named Jacubik. Being that my family settled in Lackawanna NY in the early 1900s, there is a branch of Jacubiks in the Buffalo area.

In searching for ship records, I find variations of the Jacubiks always "lurking around" but the marriage cert is the only evidence of a connection to the family.

An example is Kondraty Nowik. The name above him is Alexcey Jacubik (from Samulowiczi) headed to Clifton PA to visit his brother J. Jacubik. On the other side of Alexcey is the name Flwitzky, also from Parfenwoitz. (the name Flwitzky means nothing to me at this time) That leaves me wondering if I am connected to the Jackbiks in Pennsylvania.

Names I have connected to my family with all the variations you can imagine!

Novik/Nowik
Shaloiko (current - Salajako is one of many variations) Kavavick
Kull
Kushners are cousins that married into the family
Farima - don't know of any blood connection, but they traveled over and were friends - they stood up at my grandfathers marriage.

Our family seems to have settled in western NY, and Brooklyn.

Kondraty has been placed in Bridgeport Connecticut in 1915 where he registered for the WWI draft. There is also talk of he and his wife, Melania Shaloiko, having met in New York City before coming to Lackawanna.

We don't have a lot to go on at this point, but will be happy to explore with anyone who is looking for lost branches.

Melissa
