Hi, not sure if this is a wild goose or not...
My great grandfather came to the USA in 1912, and his name was Piero, although he went by different names. His last name, passed on to my father was Yakubaskas. I cannot find any others with that spelling, so I assume it was changed at Ellis Island, where they came in.
Piero lived in Luzerne County, PA, near Wilkes-Barre, and was born about 1887 in Lithuania. His son, Joseph (b. 1911) is my grandfather. Joseph had a brother, who changed the spelling of his name to something starting with a J. I know he had relatives that moved west to Minnesota and other places. He had two sisters, Helen (b. 1914) and Julia (b. 1917).
Not sure if any of this is helpful, or if anybody can make a connection for me, but thanks in advance!
